It was clean, and basic, I was definitely unimpressed with the front desk, the individual didn't bother to offer a hand with the bags or any thing even though I had more than a few.

I found a baggage cart to put everything on all by myself, he didn't even bother to point it out . So much for common courtesy.

The room was somewhat warm when we got in so I went to activate the a/c. There was none. I thought that I just didn't know what I was looking for ie the switch etc but when I called down to the front desk to ask, he just laughed. So I would venture to say that the hotel while fine for spring, would probably be very warm in summer.

I reread the hotel's site's amenities and where I thought it said that a/c was available, it now indicated that a/c was only available in public areas. Where I had believed internet was available throughout the hotel, it now that internet service was only available after paying an initial set up fee.

So recognize that its pretty bare bones and basic. I've seen better and I 've seen worse. It has one entrance in and one entrance out of the parking lot. So it really is somewhat inconvenient to get to. Just don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

We spent one night here before flying out of Gatwick airport on an early flight. Our travel agent said this was listed as an airport hotel but it is actually 10-15 minutes' drive away. Be aware that there is also a "Holiday Inn" (not "Express") which is much closer and serviced by the Airport shuttle bus (which this hotel is not). We paid over 15 pounds in taxi fees each way so the very good price of the hotel was somewhat eroded by transportation costs. We were told that the slower train from London to Gatwick also stops relatively near this hotel at some point but no one at Victoria station in London (where we bought our train tickets) could tell us which stop it might be. We had no complaints about the hotel itself. Staff was professional and the electronic wake-up call worked well. The room was small but clean and the bathroom decent. Next time, though, I think we'll try to find a hotel closer to the airport and serviced by the shuttle.

Stayed 1 night (Tues) prior to flight next day. This is the second time we have used this hotel and cannot find any reason to fault it. Rooms typical of HIE and not huge but extremely clean and adequate. We always book double room with Sofa bed for the extra space. Hotel is on a squareabout and there are 2 restaurants on the square which we have used and find very good. No noise either from in the hotel or outside. Complimentary breakfast included in price as standard (cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurts etc). Although close to Airport (approx 4 miles) no noise from planes heard on either visit.

We will always use this hotel when flying from Gatwick.

We were very impressed with this budget hotel. We paid £58 for one night with continental breakfast included. Our room was spacious and immaculate and the staff were very accomodating. There was some road noise, but not so much that we were bothered by it at all. Continental breakfast was good. Overall, a very positive experience. Would highly recommend.
