I stayed here three nights over two weekends July 2007. For the money, I found it clean, comfortable, friendly and quiet ( except for the early risers trying to make very early flights). My first room had a large double bed, and not too crowded, but everything was well laid our. The second room was a twin, and it seemed more spacious, but probably optical illusion. I liked the shower with a decend shower head, and very clean bath. THe breakfast was included, and several choices of hot coffee, chocolate, and tea. There was fresh fruit, several cereals, and you could make toast or have croissants. It was plentiful. I felt overall the hotel was well run. They use a local cab company and you get a 3 pound discount if you are staying at the Express. It is about a 10 minute ride to the airport. I also took a cheap day return into London from the Three Bridges Station, a short walk down the road. I ate at both restaurants in front of the Express. The buffett one gives masses of food, and rather cheap prices. The steaks looked great. The other is a poor imitation on an American style restaurant, not good service, and food never was warm enough for me. But it is also inexpensive, and has a pleasant bar. Their business was very poor, while the buffet restaurant was jammed. Both give 1/3 discounts before 6:30 PM. In all, this was a travel bargain, for Gatwick hotels are notoriously expensive. For 70 pounds a night it is a steal even with the taxi fares. I will stay there again.
