I had read the reviews about this hotel and was a little concerned but a friend assured me that it was fine for a one night stopover. The biggest benefit this hotel has over many others at Gatwick is that you park the vehicle on site and they then move it off site. I had an early morning flight and did not fancy transferring the car to the Summer Car Park the night before or on the morning of my flight.

I found the check in okay. The triple room we booked was a good size and reasonably equipped. It was a bit dated but I didn't experience any problems. If you stay here you have to remember that this is a 3 star hotel with no frills. I wouldn't use it for the night before my honeymoon / holiday of a lifetime etc.

We got on the shuttle bus as requested and the transfer on our return was also fine. You have to use the Yellow Hotel Courtesy Bus phones outside the terminal to request the pick up and expect a wait of up to 30 minutes.

I would consider using this option if doing a fly/drive from Gatwick again. It did what it was there to do and represented decent value for money.

Had a one night stay on Feb 10 and decided to book for one night on return on Feb 21. No parking issues. Check in was ok but not very professional. Had some communication issues re credit card invoice but it was sorted out. The reception is in need of modernisation as is the bar and seating area. It has a holiday camp style of furnishing. The restaurant does a very good dinner and breakfast and the staff are very good. We arrived back after the bar had stopped serving snacks (10,30pm) but the chef stayed on a bit and did us a huge snack of potato skins and nachos so no complaint about service. Room was clean but "tired" and plenty of hot water. Beds nice and room warm and quiet . It can be a long trek to some rooms if luggage is an issue. 2 floors, no lift and a pokey staircase to carry stuff up. You need to book your airport shuttle at reception to go to the airport, (£3pp) but on return to South terminal you go to bus stop 11 and pick up the yellow phone, With the airport noise, the hotel option message is not very loud or clear and you have to wait until the hotel answers, We were told to wait for 30 mins which at 10pm and only 4 people to pick up and none to drop off was a bit un necessary.
Its not 4 star, more of a 3 star budget hotel, but you are not paying 4 star prices and if I had to stay again I would have to accept that.

Stayed at this hotel twice before. The check in is very slow and not terribly effecient, they presented a bill in morning having settled the account on checking in, also car park charge but no car , it was rectified immediately. Very comfortable rooms but showing wear and tear the place needs refurbishing. Pleasant staff and very good dinner. Very good bus service to airport with helpful driver. No hesitation in using again.

Hi, I nerly cancelled our overnight stay at this hote after reading some bad reviews, Im glad I didnt!

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable, the bar food was very good and the airport shuttle service excellent both ways.

We will stay there again.

“Wouldn't stay again”

Gatwick Worth Hotel

I'm not in the habit of slating hotels for no good reason as you'll see from any previous posts here. We stayed at the Gatwick Worth for one night - one night too many. We chose it because it was a good rate for car parking while we were on holiday and a free shuttle to the airport - that was about the only benefit.
We checked in around 7pm, asked about the shuttle bus for the next morning, but they didn't have a shuttle bus available to get us to the airport in time for the flight so we had to book a cab at extra expense. Reception staff were nigh on useless on both check in and slow and miserable on the early morning check out.
Getting to the room was interesting - no lift to the floor we were on and with a holiday suitcase and no offer of assistance from staff to help carry luggage, I was in a bad mood before I reached the room.
The room itself was tiny, dark, didn't feel clean, uncomfortable - and I couldn't wait to leave it and go to downstairs to get some food.
Unfortunately, the main restaurant had stopped cooking by this stage so I was offerd bar food. Staff weren't really sure what you were ordering unless you pointed to it on the menu, clearly they weren't hired for their spoken English. When the food arrived, additional disappointment at it being cold.
Check out couldn't come a moment too soon.
Incidently, we did get the shuttle bus back from the airport on our return to the UK. From my perspective I wished we'd booked a cab instead. The driver was fairly wreckless, jumped a number of amber lights late on in their sequence and used his phone whilst driving. It was almost we had inconvenienced his morning.
Whilst it offered reasonable rates for parking plus one nights accommodation, I wouldn't stay again even if it were free.
