Just returned following a ten day trip to Las Vegas, i thought i'd send through another review for this hotel.
Having stayed here twice before and found no cause for complain, i requested that my travel agent book me in here again.
Despite the still mixed reviews on this site, i see no reason why i would want to stay anywhere else for a night before a flight. Check in staff very efficient and friendly...paperwork, car details and transfer times sorted in no time at all and off we go to the room. Ok, i do agree that the rooms are looking a little dated, but for one night they are perfectly adequate. Bigger televisions would be nice...they are tiny!! But does it really matter when you're only in the rooms for a few hours?
Check out, no problems..hand over your car keys and off on the shuttle bus to the airport ten minutes away. Upon your return, phone the hotel from the hotel shuttle courtesy phone and they come and get you. Once again only waited 5 minutes.
I can't comment on the food at the hotel as i've not eaten there. I'd found a Beefeater restraunt called The Dukes Head in Crawley Down on the internet so we went there..Great choice..ten minutes away, great food, great service, great menu...Highly Recommended!!!!
I still have found no fault with this hotel...I'm more than happy to stay there, and will do again when i next fly out of Gatwick.

I stayed at this hotel for conference and the whole thing was a disaster. Firstly, I couldn't book the agreed conference room rate as only one member of staff knew the rates and she was never there. Finally I booked on line (at a higher price) and received a receipt saying that I had paid in full. However, on arrival, I was told I hadn't paid and made to pay again - I will be watching out for my credit card statement. I complained to the duty manager but have heard nothing in response.
The staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. The rooms were worn and the beds uncomfortable. The wireless internet didn't work so the conference was a complete waste of time. The final insult was having to pay for the 'courtesy' bus.
Stay somewhere else!

I had read the reviews about this hotel and was a little concerned but a friend assured me that it was fine for a one night stopover. The biggest benefit this hotel has over many others at Gatwick is that you park the vehicle on site and they then move it off site. I had an early morning flight and did not fancy transferring the car to the Summer Car Park the night before or on the morning of my flight.

I found the check in okay. The triple room we booked was a good size and reasonably equipped. It was a bit dated but I didn't experience any problems. If you stay here you have to remember that this is a 3 star hotel with no frills. I wouldn't use it for the night before my honeymoon / holiday of a lifetime etc.

We got on the shuttle bus as requested and the transfer on our return was also fine. You have to use the Yellow Hotel Courtesy Bus phones outside the terminal to request the pick up and expect a wait of up to 30 minutes.

I would consider using this option if doing a fly/drive from Gatwick again. It did what it was there to do and represented decent value for money.

Had a one night stay on Feb 10 and decided to book for one night on return on Feb 21. No parking issues. Check in was ok but not very professional. Had some communication issues re credit card invoice but it was sorted out. The reception is in need of modernisation as is the bar and seating area. It has a holiday camp style of furnishing. The restaurant does a very good dinner and breakfast and the staff are very good. We arrived back after the bar had stopped serving snacks (10,30pm) but the chef stayed on a bit and did us a huge snack of potato skins and nachos so no complaint about service. Room was clean but "tired" and plenty of hot water. Beds nice and room warm and quiet . It can be a long trek to some rooms if luggage is an issue. 2 floors, no lift and a pokey staircase to carry stuff up. You need to book your airport shuttle at reception to go to the airport, (£3pp) but on return to South terminal you go to bus stop 11 and pick up the yellow phone, With the airport noise, the hotel option message is not very loud or clear and you have to wait until the hotel answers, We were told to wait for 30 mins which at 10pm and only 4 people to pick up and none to drop off was a bit un necessary.
Its not 4 star, more of a 3 star budget hotel, but you are not paying 4 star prices and if I had to stay again I would have to accept that.

Stayed at this hotel twice before. The check in is very slow and not terribly effecient, they presented a bill in morning having settled the account on checking in, also car park charge but no car , it was rectified immediately. Very comfortable rooms but showing wear and tear the place needs refurbishing. Pleasant staff and very good dinner. Very good bus service to airport with helpful driver. No hesitation in using again.
