We chose this hotel aswe wanted to leave our car there rather than at the airpot while we went on holiday as we thought it would be safer there.
From our research it seemed like an ideal hotel. However when we found the hotel, check in took an extremely long time, and once we'd checked in and were looking for some lifts to take our suitcases to our room, we were told there were none available, which was very disappointing as several members of our party suffer with their backs.
The rooms were average, and although we'd booked two together, they were on completely opposite sides of the hotel. The rooms were also not cleaned properly, and I found rubbish from previous occupants on the floor in my room.
The food and drink offered by the hotel was ok although very overpriced in my opinon. We expected it to be fairly expensive, being an airport hotel, but the quality and quantity provided did not justify the cost.
The following morning we tried to get the shuttle bus we had booked to take us to the airport. However the car that was sent along was booked for 6 passengers plus luggage, and was clearly far too small to take it all. In the end, the other couple booked to use the car with us had to go to a different one so that our luggage could be put into the car. The driver was friendly and helpful though.
A free shuttle was provided from Gatwick to the hotel, which we used on our return to the UK. However this was very slow to arrive, and we had to call up the hotel when the bus hadn't arrived after 30-ish minutes. The person who answered the phone told me it was on it's way and she would find out where it was, then hung up on me before I could ask how much longer it would be, as I believe we were originally quoted around 15 mins.
Finally, on returning the the hotel, we noticed that there were an extra 16 miles on the mileage clock from when we left the car 10 days ago. The car park is pretty huge but I have my doubts that anyone needed to drive it 16 miles to park it.
