In January 2007, we booked our reservation from the USA for 2 double rooms for 4 nights in October 2007. We received confirmation from the owner/manager 2 days after booking.
When we arrived on October 9 around 4:30 in the afternoon, the manager informed us that there were no double rooms available in the main house and that the owner had decided to put us in the "cottage". We were required pay in advance prior to seeing the "cottage".
The manager then took us to the cottage which was freezing cold, smelled like mothballs, the kitchen and bathroom were filthy dirty, had mold in the corners of both bedrooms, and half of the light bulbs did not work. We complained to the manager who called the owner and we were told that there was no other option.
Because the other couple has allergies to mold, they left , found other accommodations and checked out that night but they still haven't received a credit for their 4 nights of lodging. We were stuck for one night because of taxi arrangements with another group for the next day but then were able to find accommodations elsewhere for the 3 remaining nights. We have not received credit from the manager for the lodging.
We lodged a dispute with VISA through our bank and were unable to receive reimbursement for the charges. However, because we saved all of our correspondence from the time that we made the reservation, we were able to prove to our bank that the owner's response to our dispute was not truthful.
I would not recommend this motel to anyone. This property was grossly misrepresented.
