The small reception here can get crowded very quickly when the shuttle drops off which can make it feel like bedlam. However, on my arrival they quickly staffed all the desks and check-in was fast, efficient and friendly. I occasionally stay in Premier Inns for one-nighters as they are usually modern, offer good value for money and are a cut above the usual budget hotel. While this one was clean and comfortable the rooms could do with a refurbishment. Some of the fittings are showing signs of wear but not unpleasantly so. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The hotel was an easy shuttle ride from the south terminal, the G2 service run during the day was £2 and the G7 service run after 11.46pm by the airport was £2.50. If you haven't got much luggage, walk from the north terminal in under 10 minutes, turn left out of the terminal, follow the service road round, you'll see the hotel and the route is obvious The hotel provides a good breakfast buffet but if, unlike me, you are not too tired, jump a cab into town to eat. While the staff are fab the menu is unimaginative and the cooking average at best. It really caters for the bucket and spade crowd. This hotel is fine for an overnighter but I have to admit that as I need two nights at the airport I've cancelled my booking for next week's trip and will spring for a full service hotel.
