“conveniant”

This Premier Travel Inn is conveniant and reasonable value but not particularly pleasant. Check -in was chaos as it was really really busy, though the staff did their best. The restaurant was booked out and the food served in the bar was slow, poor, and overpriced. My room had had smokers in it though I had asked for non smoking. As a single female travellor I found the bar unpleasant - noisy from football on TV and had to run the gauntlet of local drunks (worryingly wearing airline uniforms.....!!). The shuttle bus is useful and efficient (price is up to £3 now) - if you can find it at South Terminal as they keep moving things around - but does not run after midnight.

“OK at best for a one-nighter”

The small reception here can get crowded very quickly when the shuttle drops off which can make it feel like bedlam. However, on my arrival they quickly staffed all the desks and check-in was fast, efficient and friendly. I occasionally stay in Premier Inns for one-nighters as they are usually modern, offer good value for money and are a cut above the usual budget hotel. While this one was clean and comfortable the rooms could do with a refurbishment. Some of the fittings are showing signs of wear but not unpleasantly so. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The hotel was an easy shuttle ride from the south terminal, the G2 service run during the day was £2 and the G7 service run after 11.46pm by the airport was £2.50. If you haven't got much luggage, walk from the north terminal in under 10 minutes, turn left out of the terminal, follow the service road round, you'll see the hotel and the route is obvious The hotel provides a good breakfast buffet but if, unlike me, you are not too tired, jump a cab into town to eat. While the staff are fab the menu is unimaginative and the cooking average at best. It really caters for the bucket and spade crowd. This hotel is fine for an overnighter but I have to admit that as I need two nights at the airport I've cancelled my booking for next week's trip and will spring for a full service hotel.

Arrived at this hotel late at night, reception well staffed but being next to restaurant the whole area and corridors had an unpleasant smell of greasy cooked food.
The hotel room was clean, well furnished and the bed seemed brand new , was also very comfortable, although the bathroom was quite dingy and dated, with slight mould around tiles and sink was discoloured too. Noise was a big problem too, woken up from 0400am by other guests leaving other rooms , sounds proofing is non existent, so therefore unable to sleep properly most of the night. To sum up, hotel is good value for Gatwick but maybe worth paying a bit more and going to the bigger hotels on airport to get a proper nights sleep, my opinion.

stayed here the night before i flew to italy- got dropped off at the airport late so took the bus which is £2.00 each way and whilst this was a lot i was glad i took it because it was dark and very cold and there was no way i was going to walk to the hotel with just my sister even with the directions given on here!
got there and reception was very quick and easy the bar was packed with people staying which was nice. the lift to the floors is quite small could fit 3 people and luggage just about!room was nice and clean with a good sized shower room!i can understand peoples reviews about the summer and how hot it can get-i stayed in feb and was freezing as i went to sleep but awoke to the room being very warm-so i can only imagine what it would be like in the summer!you can't open the windows because from 6am planes start coming in and you can hear them. other than this, it was lovely and quiet and i would def recommend this to people if its a night either end of your holiday!
check out was very quick all you had to do was drop your key in the box nothing to sign and then we got straight onto the bus which got back to the airport in about 5 mins!

A very good hotel with great room. Nice, clean, warm, with cable TV, 5 minutes from Gatwick airport. The only trouble is that you can go nowhere in foot. You should take hotels' bus to Gatwick airport (2 pounds- 5 minutes) or local busses to Horley or Crawley (1,5 pound - 15 minutes). We stayed there just one night because our flight was cancelled. And best bed ever sleeped in!
