This hotel is in a good location for Gatwick Airport.

It is walking distance to the North Terminal, but should you have luggage or are travelling to the South Terminal, there is also a bus service that picks you up from outside the main door of the hotel, and runs every 20 minutes at peak times, for £2.50 per adult.

The rooms are big and spacious, and have tea making facilities. The food in the restaurant is well priced and varied, although it can get busy, which is to be expected.

Staff are friendly, and provide more tea etc if required.

When one has to request a sheet for the bed... not a good sign. And, while the shuttle to the airport was on time, the wake up call was 15 min. late!
Hallways were cramped and dark, no air flow, and kinda smelled funky.

Nearby pub- very good service. good food as well.

I was very happy to leave.

Well, well, well. Firstly I must thank all those that go before me. Thanks to your reviews I booked my family into the hotel before we flew to Orlando.

Lets get everything out in the open. I have stayed in many hotels around the Gatwick area. Much of which remind me of a spaghetti western ( The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!).

This however was more "The Jewel in The Crown". (Trying to keep a theme going here!)

Lets not overstate anything. The Hotel is a Premier Lodge, and thus the rooms are clean and adequate, not luxurious, but perfectly acceptable.

The real find is the Gatwick Manor it is situated on. Full of history, and so English, it could be a tourist attraction. Excellent food, enchanting rustic surroundings (plus the odd modern bit unfortunately). Service efficient, although a few extra smiles would be welcome (it can get a bit pressurised later on)

Go to dinner early as it does get very busy mid evening, even on a Monday!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, coaches were spot on for transfers, and it was a super start to our holiday.

Next time I fly from Gatwick, no contest, and for under £60, its a steal.

I booked here in advance based on the reports on Trip Advisor. I arrived after a longhaul flight from the west coast of the USA mid morning and needed bed, bath and food! I found the check-in helpful and cheerful and the room adequate and clean with a good standard of linens with a clean bathroom, a powerful shower, and plenty of hot water. The room also included tea and coffee making items which was welcome together with a TV. I had booked a single and found myself in a double room with the two large singles attached together and because of my height of 6'6" was very pleased. The bed also had a quality duvet and clea, new looking pillows. I asked about food and was recommended to the Manor Hotel which forms part of the premises for the Sunday roast which sounded to my tired ears just the tonic needed! I am sorry to have to report that the meal was disappointing in that i have come to enjoy good food and this presentation was "school dinners" at best. Prepared to try again after a sleep I returned for an evening dinner and once again found the food very average. Although I found the food very average it is no worse that any other pub-grub that is found all over the UK however the beer was well kept and was better than average . During the day and evening one can hear other guests arriving and departing and during my brief stay there was a wedding party checked in and perhaps this caused more disturbance than normal. There are signs reminding guests to be quite and the hotel offers a gauranteed good nights sleep or refund policy. Overall this hotel filled the bill and I would probably return although the Premier Travel at North terminal looked to me the same and had an on- site restaurant that may be better. The shuttle service ran on time and was clean.

I stayed here for a night after arriving back from holiday late at night. The taxi from the airport to the travel inn cost £11. I noticed that the travel inn at the north terminal of the airport is much closer, within walking distance and so this might be worth considering for either terminal as it is so close.

The Gatwick airport south travel inn is very modern and clean, nothing fancy but comfortable and pleasantly decorated. My room had a double bed which was reasonably comfortable. The room was quite small and very hot and stuffy.

We were woken during the night by people running down corridors banging on doors. Apparantly this happens because people have functions in the hall opposite and then stay overnight drunk and get rowdy.

The shower was nice and powerful. Reception on the day we left were not very hekpful when we asked for more coffee for our room and asked about the bus service. The reception guy wanted us to run around looking for the maid to get coffee even though he did not know what floor she was on!

We got the shuttle service to the aiport for a domestic flight home. This is £2.50 each. It goes to the other travel inn, the south terminal and then the north terminal.

Not bad for an overnight stay and for £54!
