The good: the service and quality of food in the restaurant, the bed
The bad: tiny gym, no elevator, location,

The ugly: the noisy creaky floorboards, staff at reception, the whole town of Basingstoke

What a depressing stay. This is a motel and not a very good one. Diamond members are offered a "bottle of wine" (1/2 bottle of plonk) and "a fruit basket" (two apples on a plate), Don't expect a free breakfast. They said they do not participate fully in the program.

The heating is a uncontrollable, the windows dont open, the TV is small (remote control back was missing), the closet is tiny, the water pressure in the shower was a joke.

Avoid this Hilton unless you really need the points and stay credits.

Booked over the internet. Booked a deluxe package with the aim to have a nice stay. never used this hotel before but by the site sounded a comfortable place to stay.

on entering the room we found we had a double bed when we had paid for a queen bed. we had one bath robe for the two of us and the half bottle of wine with 2 glasses that was supposed to be there was no where to be found.

The bathroom well the only thing i can say bout that is the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned in years. nothing a bit of bleach and a brush could not sort out i am sure. i have never had this experience in a travel lodge and you pay less there.

When complaining at desk was told no senior members of staff around that evening and all he could do was offer us a free drink. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place to any one. I would rather pay to go to a travel lodge. Its cheaper and a lot cleaner for your money.

There was a time when the Hilton name was synonymous with quality and luxury, judging by this hotel that is now a thing of the past.
At £135 for a room per night plus £11.95 for breakfast and £15 for internet access I expect a great deal more that I can get for £50 at a chain motel, I certainly did not get value for money at this hotel.
I have noted comments about finding the hotel, that was not a problem but the room comfort certainly was. As others have commented it was very hot without the ability to turn the heat down. The bed must rank as the most uncomfortable I have experienced in my life, the carpet was scruffy and the noise from the plumbing awful.
The public areas whilst very basic were light and airy and the staff were doing their best to be helpful.
One final point, when the bill came it had a 'voluntary' charity donation of a pound included on it. I donate to charity on a regular basis on my terms to my chosen charities I resent being forced to pay by having it included on the bill.
I was in Basingstoke on business and I needed to work in the room, the facilities/space to do that in any degree of comfort were hopelessly inadequate. This hotel is clearly geared to the business market, get a lot of money for very little. Next time I will go for the nearest Marriott

We (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed at the hotel for 1 night 29th September '07 as part of a Legoland package. I was a little dubious after reading some of the reviews but I can honestly say we had no problems whatsoever. The girl on reception was very pleasant, the room was clean and adequate for our needs. A few minutes after we set foot in the room, reception phoned to check everything was ok with the room. The waiters were very nice in the restaurant and the food was lovely (although quite pricey but as you would expect in the Hilton)! Overall a very pleasant stay at a bargain price. Would definitely return there again.

Having stayed in this hotel last year we decided to go back again this year this time staying for two nights. The hotel is in a nice location close to the M3 we stayed in a family room which was more than adequate for our needs it was very spacious with a double bed for us and a sofa bed for the kids( which they seemed to love both times) a t.v, tea & coffee making facilities and telephone. We had fresh towels both days and the tea, coffee and bickies were repleinshed as well as things like the soap and shampoos e.t.c. As for the breakfast it was out of this world catering for every need from full english to continental, fruit, yoghurts, pastries and cereals!! We ate in the hotel on the 2nd night and they charged £12.50pp for an all you could eat buffet and the good thing was kids under 10 eat and drink for free so we didn't think it to be too bad on that account. The staff were very friendly and always acknowledged you we especially found the restraurant staff to be friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them so all in all a very enjoyable stay both times and we are looking to go back for a 3rd year!! would highly recommend for familys visiting Legoland as it is only 30 mins away.
