I was booked into this hotel by a company I was working at for a few days. First impressions were good, the entrance looked clean and tidy with the bar are and restaurant seemed OK.
Checked in and the staff on the front desk were efficient and friendly.
The room was OK, clean, but the cleaner had left the window open so by the time I arrived the room was freezing cold. No problem I thought as there was heating in the room. Put the heating on and to be honest it didn't make much difference. The bath was a strange shape and when I had a shower I kept getting caught in the shower curtain and hitting my arm on a towel rail over the bath. The bed and pillows were a bit hard for my liking so I didn't really sleep very well. Then around 1am the room suddenly got very hot and stuffy, even though I had not got the heating on. My colleague complained that her room was too hot all the time. Also there are not enough plugs in the room in relation to how many chargers and electrical products people tend to carry about nowadays
The one thing I didn't like was the smell on the stairs. It smelt as if they had a faulty glade plug in - too sickly sweet!
For me the main problem of the hotel was the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere. Previously when I had stayed in Milton Keynes I had been put in Jurys Inn or the Ramada, which I preferred because there are shops within walking distance. It is not an issue if you are in a car, but if not you will either be using taxis or staying in the hotel for meal/drinks.
The hotel is fine for a night but anymore than that then I would find somewhere a bit more comfortable.

I can read your satisfaction with our hotel staff and be sure that I will share this positive feedback with the hotel team. With regards to the heating, I will personally get back to our Maintenance department to review the system and to understand the fault. Thank you very much for letting us know. I hope you wil give us the opportunity to welcome you back at the Novotel Milton Keynes. Kind regards, Sylvain Lagier, Hotel Manager
