“Don't Stay Here (unless you're a tired motorist)!!!”

I stayed here in July, and although the room wasn't particularly clean, and it was a noisy service station (with lorries trundling by all hours of the night) it was better than crashing my car through tiredness. My problem is that it is almost always fully booked - it takes the prime position on a motorway service station, and in my view it has a responsibilty to tired drivers - a number of rooms should be reserved for motorists. That is THE POINT of service stations. I journey up and down the UK regularly on the M20, and of all the times I've felt drowsy at the wheel and tried to get a room here, I've only been lucky ONCE, and I got the last room available this July evening too. There was a queue of tired motorists behind me, and they were advised hotels back in dover as the nearest possible stopover. If this hotel wants to attract tourists or business travellers, it should not be placed here - they should leave the plot open to a hotel for motorists. Instead of which, this place is packed with people staying in Maidstone for a few days. PLEASE PLEASE don't stay here, unless it's to cut your journey up on your way to somewhere. When I asked the lady at the reception why it was always full, she explained that they often hold business seminars there, after which people stay the night, and the rest of the customers are booked in for a few days at a time whilst visiting maidstone. It's not a great hotel anyway. Are hotels that bad in Maidstone that people have to stay in a noisy, crowded travel lodge on the motorway?!! I have had a few scary nights driving because the nearest hotel is at least 30 minutes drive away (and as for breakdowns, you really would be in the crap!). Please take pity on us motorists and restore this hotel to its original function - making the country's roads a safer place.

“Very Comfortable Stay”

Premier Inn Maidstone (Allington)

14 Nov 2007

We stayed here for one night only last Saturday. The accommodation was very clean, modern, warm (you could control the heating yourself. This was turned down automatically at 8.00 a.m.). The staff were friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was served in The Malta Inn, a pub which adjoins the hotel. You can eat as much as you like. This was a very pleasant experience with our table overlooking the river Medway with all its wildlife..we fed the swans, geese & ducks afterwards. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Outline
Stayed mid week for 5 nights with business colleagues

Arrival
The lady behind reception was well organised, informative and friendly. Plenty of car parking spaces available.
Room
The room was lovely, modern and clean. They have all just recently been renovated and look lovely. There is wireless and wired internet connections that are available, but not free. The beds were nice and comfortable

Food
The food is served in the restaurant area of the attached pub. The menu is large and quite lovely. The food was always cooked to perfection and the waitress’ were friendly and prompt. I was left feeling satisfied every night that I ate there. The best food at a premier inn I have tasted throughout the country!
Location
The hotel is about 40mins walk away from the main shopping centre and is easily accessible by car too.

Overall experience
I stayed there for 5 nights and had a nice experience, the waitress’ were brilliant as was the reception team. The food was delicious, the rooms modern and clean. Couldn’t ask for more from a Premier Inn, except maybe a few more channels on the TV
