A Premier Inn with a lovely, quiet location. Only a few hundred yards from J6 of the M20, this Premier Inn is located adjacent to the local museum of country life and directly next to the river Medway. The Malta Inn (Beefeater) is next door and is an old fashioned, quirky building despite being a chain restaurant. Breakfasts exceptional value and the service from both Inn and Restaurant staff put many more expensive establishments to shame. The hotel itself is a standard Premier Inn with all the facilities that you expect for £60 a night (per room). Clean, spacious and above all, a really comfortable bed.

“Great location by the river”

Premier Inn Maidstone (Sandling)

5 May 2008

we stayed here for one night. the web showed it was fully booked, so I phoned up and checked availability and a helpful lady booked a room for me.
I was asked if I wanted to book breakfast and also reserve a table for dinner in the beefeater pub next door. Recommended as they get very busy at weekends especially if its a bank holiday.
The location is just off the M20 but it's right by a river off a main road, so a peaceful location. The premier inn has a beefeater right next door. There is a spacious beer garden, BBQ garden bar which served burgers outside etc and a row of of pub tables down along the river. the river is protected by a long fence so there is no danger for children. loads of boats were moored up and there is also a river boat that can take you into maidstone.
The welcome on arrival at the inn was as good as usual. our littleun got a drawstring goody bag which is something new they do.
The room smelt fresh as we entered. Clean and tidy.
My only gripe was that i could hear some noisy person above walking around which I have never experienced before. they kept pacing round the room, but i did eventually drift off. There was a humming noise as well coming from somewhere, but it didn't keep me awake. Breakfast in the morning was in the beefeater. not the best cooked breakfast I have had. Cereals, toast, tea, coffee juices were unlimited. views of the river though were good. service was prompt. Evening meal was ok, but i wish Beefeater expanded their menu a bit as there isn't a huge choice.
overall a nice stay. definately would go back there as the huge beer garden overlooking the river makes a great afternoon in the sun. There is a harvester just up the road if wanted something different. the pub is quite a size so it gets very busy, however we didn't hear any noise from our room which overlooked the carpark and pub. i think the windows are insulated. Warning, you can open these fully, so in the summer the rooms can get hot!!

The room was spacious, and furnished to a pretty high standard, given that it is a semi-budget chain. Reception staff were curteous and efficient. Everywhere clean.

Location is great - right by the river, and next to a great pub / restaurant. Also ideal for The Village hotel, if you want a cheaper alternative after a meal / event there.

“Functional and comfortable”

Premier Inn Maidstone (Sandling)

8 Aug 2007

Just like every other Travel Inn in the country I suppose, but I particularly liked the fact that the bedroom window could be opened; that the toiletries in the bathroom were in large refillable containers rather than tiny (un-environmentally sound) bottles; and breakfast was cooked to order. Nice spot by the river, and friendly receptionist and breakfast waitress.

Great little find after a long week's diet of noisy and worn out roadside motels. Although just off the motorway exit, you could be in the middle of the countryside as this motel occupies a prime site on the river bank. The rooms are functional yet well-equipped, in good condition and clean. There can be some noise from the pub car park but it wasn't enough to keep me awake. You can always ask for a room away from the car park side. For a budget hotel, it was a pleasure to be able to take a walk along the river, have a snack in the pub garden and wander back to my room. Admittedly, the pub is part of a chain and the food is lacklustre to say the least.
