As we are students at Lancaster University we have been to the Sun a few times and fall in love with the place more and more each time. We only paid £50 including breakfast through late rooms but we would happily pay double that. On one occasion we slept in room 11. The room was secluded in it's own corridor and we enjoyed this privacy. The room was small but adequate with modern decor and good facilities. We also stayed in room 32 which is a loft conversion room with stunning views of the castle from the skylight above the bed (which had blinds). The exposed stone wall and wooden beams complimented the modern theme of the room.
The breakfast on all occasions has been outstanding, fast service considering all the food is cooked fresh and with a breakfast table so you can help yourself to drinks and cereal. Tip for visitors the potato and onion hash is amazing.
The only constructive criticism we could offer is that the bathroom door doesn't shut properly in room 32 and on 2 occasions we had trouble connecting to the free wifi.
Overall great staff, great food, good selection of drinks and stunning rooms. Will definitely be staying again!!!
