The initial impression was dismal. Parking was difficult; it took 20 minutes to find somewhere as the hotel carpark & nearby spaces were occupied.
Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very buisy reasturant packed with people. Smokers lined the enterence way to the reception, which was not plesant.
We were reasurringly greeted by a very plesant receptionist and bell-boy. After being shown to our room I was instantly dissapointed. We were situated on the ground floor & the view from our room was that of a red car facing inwards towards us. Beyond that was the bustling reasturant and people drinking & smoking outside. A thin net was the only thing protecting our privicy, so the curtains were immediatly shut. And although it was a hot day and the room was scorching the windows remained closed for the same reason.
Followingly we explored the room to find a rather poxy bathroom. The bath had a black chip the size of a 50p coin in the white enamle, and when sitting on the toilet you were wedged in by the sink.
There was no main light so having to close the curtains posed problems as we had dimmed lighting throughout the afternooon & evening.
The TV only had the basic 5 terrestrial channels so we reluctantly purchased the £19.99 TV, Music & Internet package. The choice wasn't great.
Additionally, the phone didn't work.
However dissapointing the room was, the breakfast was plesant. The hotel offers a vegeterian english breakfast which was most ejoyable.
Futhermore, the staff were very friendly & inviting.
