The twin room was small, poky, dark, smelled of damp, the beds were too soft and it could have done with a lick of paint. The single plug socket was hidden behind a curtain under the window and took us 20 minutes and a phone call to reception to locate.
The "cooked breakfast", priced at £6.25 consisted of one rasher of bacon, one sausage, half a tomato, a few mushrooms and an egg. Extortionate.
Walking back to the hotel after midnight did not feel very safe - the last few hundred yards are not lit and the road is uneven. The hotel is designed like an American motel so the rooms are away from the reception area - ours was round the back so it was quiet, which is one of the only saving graces I can think of to say about this hotel. Inside, it was priced up at around £45 for a weekend night, yet we paid £60 because that was the price on the website we used to book it.
Overall, this hotel was vastly overpriced. The staff were very pleasant but nothing can justify charging £60 per night to stay somewhere like this. There is a Premier Travel Inn approximately a mile and a half away, and next time I will stay there instead.
