“Very Poor and extremely overpriced”

Well, where to start?
We have actually stayed at this hotel previously on a few occasions prior to this.
FINAL STRAW!
It's always been heavily overpriced and poorly run but unfortunately if you're unable to drive and want something close to the Doncaster Dome this was the best option (or so we thought).

This place has a weekend deal of £43 per night unless theres something happening at the Dome venue in which they increase their prices to a huge £60 per night!

The location of the hotel is at the rear of the Dome whcih is poorly lit to say the least. If you use the path to cross over to the Dome's car park/main entrance you can be assured of spotting at least 1 needle lurking in the grass (this is during the day, don't try at night as you can't see where you are walking or what you're stepping on!)

The rooms are small, pokey, and very dark.
Check in time is 2:30pm (which is very late), unfortunately one of our previous visits we arrived early in which we were very rudely and abruptly told that there is no chance of checking in prior to the set time in any circumstances.
If you're unfortunate enough to stay for more than 1 night the maids leave the doors wide open while they clean the entire block leaving anybody to go into your room while they're in another room. I know this because i had to call back to the hotel to collect something and was able to do this without anybody seeing me or asking if this was even my room - surely anyone can go into anyones room?!
All brings me to the final straw in this tale of possibly the worst hotel i've ever had the misfortune to stay in.
THE STAFF LEAVE AT 11PM
Yes, you heard right.....ALL the staff leave at 11pm!
Whats that? You lost your room key and you're locked out? Theres a drunken riot breaking out amoung idiot hotel guests?
The place is on fire?
No point even thinking about it as the staff have all gone home and are safely in bed while you're left there in whatever situation you're in as we found out with a group of idiots who decided to act like complete idiots for a couple of hours in the very early AM.
Theres no staff and not even number to call (my room phone didnt even dial out) luckily i have a mobile phone to call the local cops to sort this out - IT'S A HOTEL - WITH NO STAFF AT NIGHT - THIS IS NOT THE JOB NOR A SITUATION A PAYING CUSTOMER SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH!!!

Needless to say this is the last time i stay at this hotel, they've had enough of my money.
It's overpriced and to be honest it's still cheaper to stay a little further out and pay for a taxi.

“One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.”

The twin room was small, poky, dark, smelled of damp, the beds were too soft and it could have done with a lick of paint. The single plug socket was hidden behind a curtain under the window and took us 20 minutes and a phone call to reception to locate.
The "cooked breakfast", priced at £6.25 consisted of one rasher of bacon, one sausage, half a tomato, a few mushrooms and an egg. Extortionate.
Walking back to the hotel after midnight did not feel very safe - the last few hundred yards are not lit and the road is uneven. The hotel is designed like an American motel so the rooms are away from the reception area - ours was round the back so it was quiet, which is one of the only saving graces I can think of to say about this hotel. Inside, it was priced up at around £45 for a weekend night, yet we paid £60 because that was the price on the website we used to book it.
Overall, this hotel was vastly overpriced. The staff were very pleasant but nothing can justify charging £60 per night to stay somewhere like this. There is a Premier Travel Inn approximately a mile and a half away, and next time I will stay there instead.

Fine for a short stopover/ business stay etc. Stayed here for one night whilst in the area for a family occasion. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable with a welcome kettle and coffee/tea supply. The restaurant was really pleasant and we ate dinner and breakfast there. The food was good value and was plentiful and tasty. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful - organising taxis for us and so forth. Certainly no complaints about our night there.

a little basic, but not too bad overall. With your own key-card, access was available at any time. A selection of sky channels helped the time pass. The room was cosy and i could have stayed longer if need be.
