Cheap and tacky bedroom, Cold, with minimal heating, in my opinion lacking in any character, and would not recommended, I think most people would be very disappointed if they stopped here.

Arrived late afternoon. Temperatures just above freezing. Heating not turned on until guests arrive as a matter of policy. It never warmed up. Had to borrow a fan heater from pub. Pub manager very helpful but owners disinterested. Also very cold in conservatory ehere the evening meal was served. If you are going to stay phone ahead and ensure rooms are warm before arrival

We have just arrived back from a week in mexico and before we left doncaster on Saturday 14 th October we had to decide to take a chance saturday morning or go down there Friday the 13th from Newcastle incase of anything bad like weather or motorway probs on the saturday morning.
So i contacted www.holidayextras.co and although it was showing as fully booked the lady on the phone explained she would call the hotel direct and call me back which she did in matter of minutes....we had hotel instructions and our AA route planner but due to realy bad fog we got a little lost (i called th angel and they explained where we had gone wrong and put us right) but this being a lovely cosy tucked away pub if it had been daylight or better weather we would of found it no problem (we will know for next time) we landed there at 2145 we were checked in and shown to our rooms...although 2 singles which we did know about the place was immaculatey clean with a nice bed rather than those standard hotel type and a wet room style kind of bathroom, the gentlemen explained to leave the car and come and have a drink in the pub with the locals....which is not attached to the accomodation for those who wanted a earlier night, we were a little tierd and hungry and was told (by holiday extra and the angel inn) there was no food after 2030 which there was not and there was nothing local so we put our cases in our room and went off to the pub for a couple before our wake up call in the morning...friendly warm atmosphere in the pub and as we were both hungry we enjoyed the sandwiches made up at around last orders..woke up refreshed after a comfy warm bed and hot shower we had a knock on the door by our driver and off we went to the airport, our driver (sorry i dont remember your name) informed us of our delay and explained about the weather etc and basically told us he would see us in a week and that he did we were delayed by 2 or so hours on return but i felt i had no worry about my car being charged more due to our late arrival..so we got taken back to the angel inn and our car was there waiting...i cant stress enough that staying the night before a flight especially in the winter months takes out the worry and if like us your from newcastle and they dont always fly to where you want then i would say book the angel inn....but have some food if your going to arrive late or grab something on route, there is no shops etc so there is just you and the pub !!! thanx to all there for making our stay pain free...we will return!
