A mid-sized hotel about a mile from the middle of Doncaster, very close to the race course. It's also on the main route out of town for the ambulance station and the secondary glazed windows often struggle to dampen the street noise.
The decor is a bit faded and tired and some of the bathrooms look a bit clapped out. Some of the rooms, however, are very nice and have had a fair amount of money spent on them. Avoid Room 101, apart from the obvious reason, if at all possible. My mate stopped in there and the bath was about the same size as the sink.
The restaurant was a shambles however. A simple meal may take up to an hour to arrive after the cook (I won't dignify it by calling him chef) drives across to Asda for the ingredients. No, really.
