This is a lovely new hotel, catering for the business community and personal travellers who need a cheap, quality product. We used it as tourists to the area.
It is set in an industrial estate between the M18 and Doncaster town centre, so is convenient for both. The outlook one way is factory units with lorries passing by most of the time, but the other side overlooks the car park and a rather nice pond area. Try to get a room that side!
There are no frills, but the rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well furnished, with LCD TV, internet access and a lovely hot shower with a seat. We paid a little more for an executive room, but the standard ones looked quite adequate.
Check-in and check-out was handled well, with smart, friendly, helpful staff. However, the bar/ catering staff were dressed rather scruffily in casual clothes which rather lowered the tone.
The price includes a buffet- style full English or Continental breakfast, although the selection is more limited than in expensive hotels (e.g. scrambled rather than fried eggs & no hash-browns). We found it met our needs fine.
We didn't try the restaurant evening menu, which whilst limited in choice, seemed good value and the dishes we saw being eaten by others looked nicely presented.
