I thought this hotel has been VERY VERY hard done to on the reviews on this site and I would say to potential future guests to ignore them.
Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel 16th Feb '06 and was very pleased with it. Paid £65 for an executive suite. I was absolutely terrified at what I had booked by looking at the reviews on this site but fear not!
Very clean and our room was VERY large, consisted of a double bed, seperate living area with tv (not placed on the floor, but on a stand as another guest stated), sofa and a chair, coffee table and facilities - which were all fine and clean.
Had a very large window too, noise wasn't a problem for us once we had closed it! Only a very slight problem with the bed, there were no holes, clean and very comfortable but there wasn't a quilt but just a checkered blanket with a white sheet over the top of it. In Feb it's not exactly summer is it, so a quilt would of beeen nice, also found the blanket to be rather itchy and irratating.
Dressing table with large mirror and also a lovely mirrored wardrobe which wasn't broken.
Bathroom lovely and clean with a jacuzzi bath! - Very impressed with. Even included BDAY and scales (Didn't even get scales in the Marriot).
Had a problem with the room cleaners, trying to get into our room at 9:30am to clean up, despite checking out at 11am they still insisted on knocking to wake us up. However, it was a fault of our own as we didn't put the Do No Disturb sign up. Didn't try the breakfast, too sleepy and hungover!
Check in and out was very easy and prompt. No queues!
Overall, a very nice, cheap hotel with a great location! Bar next door pitcher of cocktails £6! Don't be put off by the other reviews if you're just looking for nice, comfortable place to lay your head for the night! But...don't forget the DO NOT DISTURB sign if you want a lie in!
