Stayed overnight here and found it to be quite ok for an airport hotel.

Pleasant staff, with quick check-in. The room was small-ish, but functional. Bed was very comfortable, but I found the space the shower was in very constricting (though it may have only been like that in my room). Loved the toiletries however!

Hotel was happy to oblige me in keeping a bag for a few hours, while the shuttle to the airport was prompt in both directions - in fact, one my way back to catch out outbound flight, the shuttledriver made a trip especially to drop me off at the terminal - I was very impressed by this small courtesy!

The downside is that it's kind of isolated - so if you want anything, bring it with you. There doesn't appear to be anything local in terms of convenience stores/petrol stations etc which means you will end up paying the full hotel price for any supplies you need.

All in all, I'd recommend it for staying near Manchester Airport!

We had to travel over 200 miles to Manchester Airport for our 6am flights, it was decided to stay the night before rather than drive through the night.

I started searching for places and missed the deals on the Travelodge, the only rooms they had left were ones for £59 which are not worth it, a nicer hotel can be found for that price, so off I went searching for a hotel with or without parking, a lot of the websites don't show the marriot as taking 4 in a room for some reason so I contacted the hotel directly to book, I booked a family room with 8 days parking for £119, admittedly it worked out slight more expensive than if I had booked the Travelodge and parking but not by much, I also thought it would be nice for the children to use the pool and spa facilities at the marriot after their long car journey

Finding it was easy, when we arrived we were not sure what to do as regards to parking so we just found a space and then went to reception, it was a bit of a walk but nothing major, booking in was easy, reception looked a bit tried though, finding the room was an epic journey up and down stairs and corridors, it was signposted well and we had a map !

The room was huge, it had 2 queen beds, a sofa bed (which was already made up) and then a little day bed, even with all these beds there was still plenty of space, it had the usual nice touches such as slippers and bathroom goodies. The bathroom was spacious and did the job. The beds were really cumfy with plenty of pillow choices, it was a bit hot in the room but once the aircon kicked in it was fine.

We used the pool, finding it was again a bit of a trek, it had a steam room, plunge pool, sauna and hot tub, the pool etc was nice but the changing rooms were dirty (dirty water, hair and rubbish on the floor) and the spa receptionist was a little bit cold and unhelpful, just sort of did his job, not really what I expect from this hotel chain but it was a brief conversation that we had and it certainly was no big deal, more of an observation. The main thing was that we all chilled out for a bit before our early start the next morning. We did not take our bags down to our room as it was a real trek, the reception kept them safe for us.

We had leave the hotel at 4am and check out was easy, staff at reception very friendly and cheery, the shuttle bus was hassle free.

If you have the parking aswell then when you arrive back you have to call the hotel to let them know and they will send the shuttle bus, we did have to wait about 20 mins for it to turn up, then go to reception to exchange your parking ticket for an exit ticket, getting back onto the motorway is easy and well signposted.

Overall it was a very good experience and I would definatly recommend you stay at this hotel especially if you have kids, the rooms can easily cater for you all with space to spare.

We had an early flight from Manchester so we decided to book an overnight stay in a double room with 8 days parking via holiday extras.

The room was spacious & comfortable with minibar, ironing board & quality that goes with the Marriott chain. I couldn't hear any aircraft noise in the room so we had a good sleep & hassle free start to our Holiday to Tunisia

The swimming area is very impressive & I watched the closing stages of Wales v France 6 nations in the sauna which has satellite tv in!! The food is overpriced but it was nice. There are other options to eating in the hotel but it was convenient. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that

The shuttle service runs every hour & half hour 24/7 & took about 10 mins. You leave your car in the car park which is what we wanted rather than it being taken to a car park off site

Overall I would recommend this as a good hotel for its purpose & would use it again for an early flight. The only thing I can find on the negative side is the car park is not big enough & you could struggle to find a spot at peak times as they also cater for weddings & business conferences.

“Comfortable, efficient Marriott”

This is a Marriott-quality hotel near the airport but with some pros/cons.

On my stay, I arrived around 10am and was able to get early check-in. As long as they provide this, its great but I'm not sure if this is something they routinely offer but someone said they could charge extra for this. If they do, that's a downer.

On my visit in March 2008, there were no working ice machines on the second floor. The exercise room does not open until about 7AM which means if you want a workout before going out on business, its just about impossible. The rooms are above average for most UK hotels but slightly below what you'd expect for a Marriott in the states. Everything worked, however, and the staff is efficient and friendly. Free shuttle to/from MAN so if you're arriving by plane or departing by plane, its great.

We were welcomed with a smile. After room allocation, I queried whether the room had twin beds; as it didn't, the receptionist changed our room. The room was delightful. Next time I passed reception I said we were pleased with the room & the receptionist told us that, as he hadn't had a twin room in the category we'd booked, he'd upgraded us. And he did this without trying to claim brownie points by telling us!

We booked Marriott because it has on site parking (free for 8 days); some airport hotels require one to drive out to their off-site car park & then catch a shuttle bus to the airport. At Marriott one merely parks in one of their spaces.

On return, the shuttle bus was there 10 minutes after we telephoned and the driver offered to drop us at our car rather than have us walk from reception.

An excellent airport hotel fully living up to Marriott standards - and at a reasonable price.
