We (wife plus 2 children) stayed in Biarritz for 8 days, eating out lunchtime and in the evenings; this was the only restaurant we ate in twice. This is a local type restaurant, it can be quite noisy but that only adds to the charm of the place. It is also a bar, where the locals can have an aperitif, they have 2 dining rooms, and one is bar side the other in a separate room. The kitchen is open where you can see the chefs preparing and cooking the food. The food was very good, whether choosing fish or meat. One evening we had the bar de ligne”, caught that day, it was excellent. Also the ham (Iberico) the children couldn’t get enough of it.
We went back a couple days later, the waiter remembered us, remembered what we had ordered made some suggestions on what we should try this time. All of the staff was very professional with a personal touch. It’s not fine dining but a genuine local dining experience.
