Tonic Hotel is in a good location but the standard room is terribly drab and not what you see in the brochure or web site. We originally booked in for 5 days over a weekend at the end of March 2007. It rained non stop, the shops opened after ten and closed again at 1230 for 2 hours. The place was like a ghost town and i found it quite expensive. 4 Euros for a coffee on a wind and rain swept promenade. Dont go there out of season or you will be bored stupid. Good shopping but very expensive. Restaurants all seemed to be the modern wine bar type and no traditional french ones evident. I found the bars were empty but any that had patrons were full of smokers. We went there with a view to buying proprety and will probably never be back near it. We left after two days and still had to pay for the full 5 days car hire. Menus in french only, tv only one english channel (cnn). i did however find the staff very friendly and helpful. Mark from N. I.
