Stayed as part of a Brittany Ferries 3 night break 15-18th March 2012.
Brilliant location in the centre of the old city, big bonus being parking attached to the Hotel at a cost of 5E per night, very tight spacings.
We were located at the side of the Hotel on the 3rd floor (in roof), our standard room was well appointed with a large comfortable bed and perfectly adequate shower room. All was clean and tidy. Basic toiletries were provided.
Other reviews refer to noise, however although we did experience noisy seagulls and revelliers in the street, this was not excessively intrusive and to be expected given its central location.
Our main issue with the Hotel was the lack of welcome and courtesy from the staff on reception. we were made to feel that we were intruding on their duties being made to constantly wait whilst they answered the telephone or finished working on their computer even though the Hotel was not busy.
We were pounced upon on the afternoon of day 2 of 3 to pay our extras bill (small value 30-40E) without even a hello. I have stayed in many hotels and never been asked to settle up before the day of departure. This made us feel untrusted and unwelcome.
We had breakfast in our rooms on each day (supplement of 2Epp which isnt bad value), this started out well but got worse on a day by day basis resulting on the last day without cutlery, plates, napkins, sugar, fruit compote and cold coffee. But room service was alway prompt.
Breakfast was typical French fare, but for longer stays a greater variety in fruit compotes etc would be welcomed. The freshness of the Croissants and Bread is questionable, Croissants were overbaked and by day 3 the bread was more Ciabatta than Pain.
So to conclude, lovely hotel, but the staff need to be more customer focused and friendly, a smile and greeting costs nothing.

We are very sorry to read concerning the lack of courtesy and welcome at the hotel. It is of utmost importance that all our guests feel welcome, and if you read other commentaries this has always been our strongest point.

As director I am present 14 hours of the day and unfortunatley was unable to meet you over the 3 days of your stay .
As you took your breakfast in your room each day our paths never met.
Breakfast is our favourite time of the day as this is the time that we can actually have an exchange of conversation with our guests.
Your afternoon tea was also taken in your room , had it been taken in the lounge my receptionist would have welcomed some conversation with you. I am very sorry we never had the occasion to meet.
Concerning breakfast, your reservation through Brittany ferries provides a standard continental breakfast of bread and croissant only, however at the hotel Arvor we provide homemade jams, compote of fruit, cheese and ham at no extra cost, all local produce..
Our bread comes fresh every morning by our artisanal baker
We are sorry by the forgetfulness of some items on the 3rd morning on your breakfast tray, this was rectified immediately.
Your reservation with Brittany Ferries does not include extras .
Our policy for asking you to pay the night before was not intended to make you feel untrustworthy , but for your own comfort of leaving in the morning.
Most of our Brittany ferry guests have an early boat to catch and reception is not open until 0900 and to avoid delays whilst seving breakfast we try to to make your departure more comfortable by not attending to bills in the early morning.
Thankyou for your commentary and have taken note
