If ever reading previous hotel reviews was an important consideration BEFORE making a booking, then I will take more care for any future bookings.
I must say that I agree with a lot of points made by the Tripadvisor member from Toronto, in their review of this hotel, posted August 19th 2004, as I have had similar experiences a few weeks ago!
I travelled with my husband and daughter to Dijon, as a single overnight stop en route to our holiday destination.
We had great difficulty finding a suitable safe parking place, near to the hotel as we had a roofbox on our car.
Atfer checking in, we went to our room and discovered that the air conditioning was not working. Temperatures in the late evening were 20c+. We made an enquiry to the desk and were advised that the air conditioning was broken. A sign was displayed on the counter stating this message, although it had not been brought to our attention at the time of check-in.
The heat was unbearable and opening windows seemed to be the only choice, with however two awful results. Firstly, we soon came to realise that there were several music/disco venues right opposite the hotel. The noise of music and people shouting
went on until 5am. I felt ill with the prospect of travelling a few hours later without proper sleep and worse still, with several insect bites to my daughter and I as a result of keeping the windows open in a vain attempt to get some air.
All I can say is never again would we stay in this hotel or reccomend it. Not in my opinion worthy of a three-star rating.
