This hotel is quite nice at a glance. It presents itself well. However, the bed is sagging and very soft. Pillows are cheap chunks of foam. The bathroom was nice but lacked towels. The air conditioning did not work. When you open the windows the bugs come in as there are no screens. The breakfast was 12 euro, so we skipped that. They also charged for the internet which was surprising. The room was clean and in a very good location for the train and restaurants and sites.

“Good breakfast”

The hotel was clean and was pleasantly smoke free. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The car parking was in the next building which made the transport of bags a bit of an issue.
The room was small and, with three people, cramped. Room service was from the restaurant across the road. It was very expensive for the amount of food provided. The restaurant staff did not speak English which made ordering difficult and required one of us to go to the reception desk of the hotel and get the staff there to interpret the order.
The hotel is within comfortable distance to the old part of the city and to a few reasonable restaurants.
The breakfast was very good with a range of options of both hot and cold food.

Hotel can be seen as you leave Dijon train station so was really handy. looks a bit dated but clean and tidy. breakfast ok. coffee etc, croissants pastries. cereals yoghurts meat and cheese. the only problem we had was that i hadn't taken any shampoos expecting the hotel to have them but they dont. also tea and coffee facilities would have been great in the room.one english channel - cnn - on tv. handy for sights in dijon. not a lot going on in the hotel really. but nice and quiet. would recommend.

If ever reading previous hotel reviews was an important consideration BEFORE making a booking, then I will take more care for any future bookings.
I must say that I agree with a lot of points made by the Tripadvisor member from Toronto, in their review of this hotel, posted August 19th 2004, as I have had similar experiences a few weeks ago!
I travelled with my husband and daughter to Dijon, as a single overnight stop en route to our holiday destination.
We had great difficulty finding a suitable safe parking place, near to the hotel as we had a roofbox on our car.
Atfer checking in, we went to our room and discovered that the air conditioning was not working. Temperatures in the late evening were 20c+. We made an enquiry to the desk and were advised that the air conditioning was broken. A sign was displayed on the counter stating this message, although it had not been brought to our attention at the time of check-in.
The heat was unbearable and opening windows seemed to be the only choice, with however two awful results. Firstly, we soon came to realise that there were several music/disco venues right opposite the hotel. The noise of music and people shouting
went on until 5am. I felt ill with the prospect of travelling a few hours later without proper sleep and worse still, with several insect bites to my daughter and I as a result of keeping the windows open in a vain attempt to get some air.
All I can say is never again would we stay in this hotel or reccomend it. Not in my opinion worthy of a three-star rating.

    • Disliked — Location, no air conditioning, no safe convenient parking, tiny lift!
    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — Read reviews from previous guests, make location inquiries before arriving. Stay out of town!

“Better than expected!”

Le Jura Hotel

Was expecting the worst after reading a review here, but was plesantly suprised. The night manager couldn't have been more helpful in getting us, our luggage and car sorted out. The room was basic, but quite roomy. The bed wasn't brilliant but again perfectly acceptable. The bathroom was a good size and there was a separate lobby for the cupboards etc. there was no air-con and the corridors were very hot, but as the outside temp. was 35c it was only to be expected. The location is very near the train station, on a busy one way street, but our room looked over the back so there was no noice at night even with the windows open. Breakfast room was again too hot with no air-con, but the buffet on offer was fine. Good value and well trained staff.
