Paid to stay at this hotel through expedia. Travelled 8hrs from Dunkirk to Dijon, arrived at 9.50pm to find out that the reception closed at 9.30pm. There was meant to be a person oncall to let late arrivals in but this person was uncontactable. The man who was answering the calls (at a call centre in Calais) said that the person responsible for the hotel that night was unreachable. So basically if there was a problem at the hotel that night such as a fire or if you had a medical problem, then there would be no one at the hotel who could help you or the emergency services if they arrived and needed access or information about the residents.
I tried calling expedia on their 24hr helpline and gave up after being on hold for eternity. In the end I had to email them from my mobile phone. In the end I decided to carry on to my final destination in Zermatt.
Since then the hotel has denied all knowledge and said that I did not show. They are refusing to give me a refund and expedia are 'investigating' the matter. Avoid this hotel.
