We stayed here for one night in early October. Our room was #20 on the second floor - 2 large stairways - there are no elevators but there are people to take your luggage for you. If you can't do stairs, you need to ask for ground floor rooms - if they have them. Our room was large and spacious with a sofa and chairs. Bathroom was also large - two sinks. Wifi was free and english channels on the TV. The weather was unusually warm for October and our room was very warm. It had an airconditioning unit in it, but either it was not big enough to cool the room or it had run out of freon. It blew just lightly cooled air. It was too warm for us to sleep, so we opened our windows. The air was cooler outside by this time, but unfortunately there is a very busy street adjacent, so we got tremendous street noise until around midnight. I would be concerned about staying here in July, August or September if the temperatures were very warm and you are uncomfortable in heat. That said, the staff is very nice and the location is excellent.
We tried to book the restaurant for that night but it was already full - and I mean full - every table was taken. The staff did send us to another restaurant close by which was excellent. Secured parking was free. We did take the breakfast the next morning at 14Euros per person. I have read the other reviews and many people liked the breakfast. I would not do it again. First, my husband and I are not big breakfast eaters, so a lot of the foo foo was wasted on us. There was fresh fruit and a variety of juices - some of which I didn't even know existed - banana juice? There was the roll of ham, some plain yogurt (I eat flavored) and some cheese. Cold hard boiled eggs. Several variety of pastries and yes, chocolate cake - not on my breakfast list. It was one of those breakfast rooms where everyone talks in hushed tones and one eats on silver plates. Elegant and lovely, but wasted on my husband and me. I would probably just go around the corner to the great pastry shop and get a sweet and a cup of coffee.
This is a lovely town and a great location. I would stay here again - just bag the breakfast.
