We stayed at this modern refurbished hotel three nights last June during our trip to Loire Valley with my family. The Hotel is quite distance from the centre of the City of Amboise but if you have a car the location is excellent.
The rooms were clean and comfortable facing the chateau of Amboise.
The breakfast was good as well as dinners at the restaurant and the staff were polite and professional.
My only complain is that during our stay at this hotel a member of my family had an accident as he went to swim at the hotel's swimmimg pool. He hit his head badly at the post of their new showers they have put next to their outdoor swimming-pool and his was bleeding for quite long. The staff at the reception gave him some first aid bantages but that was all. They did not even ask him once how he is getting on or apologise for the accident. Beware of this modern shower posts if you visit this swimming pool as they can be realy dangerous especially if you are high and you do not see them as you enter the area were is the pool!!
Anyway I will recomend this hotel to anybody as is in a very good location (next to the motorway) if you are touring by car the Chateaux of Loire Valley.

this is a nice hotel, but away from the center of town - if i had wanted to walk around the town before dinner, i would hacve had to walk a fair distance into town

the included dinner was good as wweas the breakfast buffet

if iwere to return to amboise, i would choose a hotel in the center of towb

Stayed with a teenage family for four days this summer. All the other reviews are spot on- the Novotel provided a good base for those on a motoring holiday. It has lots of facilities but apart from the pool you have to pay extra for them. Costs can mount up - let alone the breakfast cost which we avoided like others. However, we all felt it was a very impersonal experience and that many of the staff were professional but could have been a little more welcoming. Basically, a good hotel with well serviced rooms and things to do for all the family but a bit anonymous!

Stayed at the Novotel in Amboise for 3 nights in May 2006. The day we were leaving there were lots of painters getting ready to paint the exterior of the hotel and the lobby carpet was also replaced, so anyone visiting late June 2006 onwards should find this hotel in excellent condition.

The room we had was clean and comfortable. It had a king size bed and a pull out sofa bed. The bathroom was very nice and the toilet was separate from it. The hotel has a nice little outdoor pool, unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to use it when we were there. There are also a couple of tennis courts and a crazy golf course.

The hotel is quite a distance from the lovely town of Amboise (the hotel is up quite a steep hill), so would advise taking a car into town.

Didn't eat at the hotel, breakfast isn't exactly cheap at 12 euro, we chose to go into Amboise and get a couple of pastries instead. Didn't eat in the hgotel in the evening either as Amboise has some lovely little restautants. The Chinese restaurant - Temple du Ciel - is particularly nice.

The hotel is within easy driving distance of many of the chateaux in the region. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Loire Valley.
