We had a family room with a double and 2 twins. The bathroom is VERY small, but everything else was very nice. There is no lift/elevator. Brand new flat screen tv. Free internet and chess in the lobby. Filling but a bit pricey breakfast (5 euro) optional - fresh made breads, croissant, coffee/cocoa, plain yogurt (not a hit with the kids), one slice of cheese, preserves and butter. Great location, easy walking to restaurants, Amboise castle and Da Vinci house. Free private locked parking.

Family of 5 (2 adults/3 kids) stayed here one night on cross-country trip of France. "Chambre famille" was quiet and comfortable, with "en suite" bathroom...although shower stall was tiny! Easy walk to Chateau and town. Garage parking available and convenient.

This hotel was by far the least expensive of our trip, at 49 E per nite. It was clean, in a good location, offered safe parking, offered a decent breakfast in a pleasant dining room, had very friendly owners, and, even free internet! Our room, one of their cheapest, was cute - with wood beamed ceilings, a window onto the street, a TV, etc.

At first, I thought they had grossly underpriced their hotel, but, as I looked around (when I was there), I did notice some other hotels that had similarly priced rooms. Still, this is a great deal!

The owner made an interesting comment to me. He said that they are having problems with the very positive online reviews they are getting. The problem is that people forget that THIS IS A 2-STAR HOTEL! The reviews are great, but they are relevant to 2-star expectations. The bathrooms are TINY (literally units squeezed into the corner of the room) and there are no fancy amenities.

But, for a safe, clean, quaint downhome stay, this is the place!

This hotel is an excellent value in Amboise. The rooms are basic and very clean. We had the quad even though there were only two of us because that was all that was available, and it was still pretty inexpensive and turned out to be a good size for us. You're in a great location to walk all over Amboise and it's very easy to drive out of town from the hotel, too.
