My wife & I stayed 3 nights at Parva Domus, in Epernay as our base for hitting the local Champagne houses. We were greeted by Claude, the owners Dad, enjoyed a welcome sparkling wine, and all looked good. On climbing the narrow (noisy)stairs to our room La Prune at the top, it had a bath on the floor of the bedroom and a toilet surrounded by a curtain. Whilst this might look 'French' it made having a shower hard work without flooding the floor. We asked to move room as the noise of the TGV rattling through the night was annoying.... with no A/C, we had to have the window open. We were told repeatedly they were full but, even 'Blind Freddie' could see that they were not full.
The continental breakfast was good but the welcome sparkling wine only works on the first day. On Day 2, I made the mistake if sitting in the lounge adjacent to the breakfast room and the entrance and was promptly told that this was Prive (Private). Claude recommended a local restaurant 'La Cocquille' and there we saw the other guests from Parva Domus. I am sure they are on a kick back as it was no great restaurant. The next night, Just along the road we found a really fabulous restaurant called La Gourmond...try that one instead.
By the way, the car-park is good for 4 cars but if the house was really full that would be a problem.
