My husband and I stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Epernay and its champagne houses. Ivana, the host, was wonderful and very welcoming. Our room was the little cottage next to the manor house. The entire place is decorated in a French country renaissance style and Ivana, the designer, has featured it in many French home and garden magazines. There is a beautiful garden at the back of the house and a little garden house where you can sit and have an afternoon tea. Breakfast in the gorgeous breakfast room overlooking the garden was plentiful. We had traditional french pastries, bread, cheese, charcuterie, yogurts and a fruit dish.
For any would be visitors, Le Manoir des Charmes does not have any lounge or communcal areas except for the garden. There is also no television or telephone in the rooms. There is also no internet access.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I would definitely come back and stay here again.
In terms of location, it is a 5 minute drive to Hautvillier where many of the vineyards and champagne houses are. It's also a 5 minute drive to the Avenue de Champagne.
