It's sometimes hard to find a truly warm welcome in France but here the Patron is friendly, helpful and serves up good food at a good price. There are 2 large rooms and plenty of space but the feel is cosy and very french.
I researched this on www and phoned to book a late meal after a Jacques Dutronc concert in Troyes in May. He could not have been more helpful as we popped in for a drink on way to the venue, promising to return at 10.30pm. He offered us some lovely hams and cheeses with our drinks and chatted with us. Nice chap and ambiance. Later the meal was just what we needed after a long day and drive ( and great concert). Hearty, tasty and typical french bistro fare, with a good wine list. Definitely recommended as bar, restaurant, café or general relaxing in the heart of old Troyes.
You can't go wrong here. Exactly what you want from a french bistro, and good to see that they still exist. N.B. We did speak french throughout, so not sure about their english skills, but probably fine.
