At around 9pm, we decided on this restaurant after a long day of sightseeing. We knew French dinners were drawn out affairs but the waiter didn't come to take our orders until 35 minutes after we were seated. To be fair the staff looked overworked. The food I saw at neighboring tables seemed fine and the prices were on par.
We tried to shorten the experience by getting the check after the first course. He never did come back to process the credit card so we just dropped some cash and left.
I read later that the Champ Elysses has the third highest rent in the world. Many of these restaurants are being pushed out, including the McDonalds which was a block away. Eating at quiet neighborhood restaurants was so much more pleasant.
