Located near the corner of Rue St. Roch and Rue de Rivoli within a dining and shopping area near the Tuileries Gardens. It is like stepping back in time as you enter this well-recommended hotel which was a residence in the 18th century. The ancient staircase with small stairs and wobbly handrail remind one of what life was like several hundred years ago in an upper middle class "hotel particulier." The challenge upon arrival is hefting suitcases up the stairs: sometimes help is available. The staff is friendly and service-oriented. There is free wifi. A/C is excellent. TV in room.Restaurants are within walking distance as well as upscale shopping. In the opposite direction on St. Roch one arrives on Rue de l'Opera! One of my favorite streets with Cafe de la Paix and L'Opera Garnier at the end of it...a nice walk without a suitcase. The double room I shared with a friend has a wonderfully deep tub which was great for soaking after days of walking ( not one of those small, restrictive tubs!). the staff is great about wake up calls and calling for cabs. The handy and economical "RoissyBus" is behind the Opera Garnier and leaves frequently and the fee is around 11euros ( check for current fee). It arrives at the international terminal in about 45 minutes. My only regret? That I am not there NOW!!More
