First of all you have to understand that this is a low budget hotel - so don't expect to find luxury here. I was here with my parents and we stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in room 103 - first floor(which has 2 single beds and one "double" bed). The room was small indeed, but it was clean, the bathroom was also clean and the towels were changed every two days. I wish we had a balcony, but there are no rooms with balcony (maybe just the ones from the last floor). The walls are very thin, so you can hear every whistle from the next door room, but considering that we were gone every day from 8am untill 10pm visiting, at night we were so tired that we did not care anymore about the noise. At the hotel reception we met 2 different men. The first one was nice and helpfull, as we arrived he gave us a map and explained to us how we can travel from there to all important areas of Paris. I do not remember his name, just that he was not so tall, he was wearing glasses, he had a round face and he was talking in a friendly way. The second man was a little bit taller, skinnier and not so friendly as the first one. The closest metro station is indeed Pigalle, and the hotel is located in the Red District, with sex shops everywhere, but I can honestly say that I walked on the street in the middle of the night without any kind of problems. I would recommend you to use the bus and not the metro in the city, because the metro does not look so nice (which is a big minus for a city like Paris), and if you travel by bus you can see the streets and places you cross during your travel - from the metro you don't see anything. The only advantage is that the metro is faster. But we were there on a holiday and not to run and rush in order to get somewhere 5 minutes earlier.
Here is my opinion about this hotel:
Plus - acceptable price, clean room, close to metro and bus stations, close to supermarkets and restaurants.
Minus - thin walls and the fact that the beds were on wheels.
Hope this was helpfull to you :)
Enjoy your stay in Paris!!!
