We stayed at the Jardin de l'Odeon for 4 nights towards the end of August. We managed to find great deal (approx £80 per night room only) and there were good reviews on Tripadvisor.
We really stuggled to find the hotel from the metro station (Luxembourg I think) - the map we had wasn't detailed enough to show all the tiny little streets in the area so it was difficult to work out where we were. We finally gave up on the map and phoned the hotel - and the lady there was extremely helpful, gave us very clear directions and we arrived within minutes.
Check in was quick and efficient. The staff were very friendly and polite every time we spoke with them, and fortunately they spoke great English! The hotel looked lovely, and was very stylishly decorated. Our room was on the first floor. The lift is very small so if you are travelling as a family, you'd probably need a few trips!
Our room was a bit on the small side but not too cramped and the furniture made the best use of the space available. The bathroom was a good size, with a bath and shower. It was all kept extremely clean throughout our stay.
Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast i.e. pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, toast, cereal, cold meats etc. It cost 12 euros, which we felt was a bit expensive for what it was but it was always presented very well and as always, the staff were very polite and attentive.
The hotel is lovely in its own right, but the best thing about it is its location - St Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Louvre and more all within a very short walk; we didn't need to use the metro that often. There's some lovely bars and restaurants close by, the whole area has a great vibe - really lively but also safe. It always seemed to be really bustling no matter what time of day.
We had a truly lovely stay and a fabulous trip to Paris, and I have no hesitation in recommending the Jardin de l'Odeon (as long as you have a good detailed map!).
