We usually eat at Chez Georges when in this neighbourhood but they're closed in August so we had to find an alternative, and La Cordonnerie didn't disappoint. This little restaurant is located a short walk from the Louvre but off the beaten tourist track. It's definitely worth seeking out - we had a lovely meal. The food is traditional bistro style, I had a killer veal liver with a balsamic sauce and some delicious potatoes as my main; first course was a sautéed mushroom dish with parsley and garlic. Both were excellent. Service was a bit slow (even though the restaurant was empty), but it was Paris in August, so no surprise there!
