“Apartment hotel”

This is an apartment hotel. They do serve breakfast but it is not normally included in the room.

We are a family of five so we had an apartment with one bedroom, one sofa bed in the main room and an extra bed. There is a small kitchen as well.

It was kind of tricky to get to the hotel via car since a lot of the streets are one-way.

“Great idea”

Citadines Montpellier Antigone

8 Jul 2008

We were taken aback to find no bed in the room but, once we had worked out how to open the sofabed, the bed was very comfortable. Good self-catering facilities, which would be particularly useful for a long stay. Very quiet (we were in a back room).

Tram stop immediately outside - takes you direct to the station.

Recommended.

“Nice - Like an apartment”

Citadines Montpellier Antigone

31 Jan 2008

Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan 08.
Had a 2 room suite (room 210 I think) which had a bedroom and a seperate living room.
I wasnt expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Its more like an apart-hotel. I think all rooms have a small Kitchen area (in the hall). My room also had a seperate living room (with sofabed to sleep 2).
One thing I really liked was the lighting in the room was great, desk light, lampstand, wall lamps made it really bright and homely. Living room had CD player/radio with USB input to play MP3's on as well. Wired Internet was fine too.
I would not hesitate to stay here again, it would be perfect if you were staying in Montpellier for a long period as its like an apartment of your own.

“Dissapointed with bed”

Citadines Montpellier Antigone

2 of 5 stars
Melbourne, Australia
22 Sep 2007

We stayed at the Citadines Antigone from 25-31 August, with the room booked through the conference accomodation service at the Corum in Montpellier. The 1 bedroom apartment was pretty good, though a little noisy when the balcony door was open because it was at the front of the property on a main road.

The kitchen was very well equipped, a pleasant surprise compared to most apartment hotels. The lounge was small but very comfortable with the bonus of a small stereo to play CDs or the radio.

The bedroom was the huge dissapointment. Our "queen" bed was actually two singles pushed together. I have experienced this in hotels before, but in this case each bed was made up separately with the sheets and blankets tucked in tightly along the middle of the bed. It made it impossible to sleep together without untucking all the sheets and lying in the middle of the bed was out, as there were 2 hard bed frames there. I think this is very poor for 130 Euro/night.

We also had to put our bags in the loungeroom as there was no floor space in the bedroom for accessing a suitcase. There was just enough room to walk around the bed.

I found the day staff were very unhelpful. I was presented with a bill to pay upon registering and the rates were not very well explained. By contrast the night staff were very helpful with my queries.

I had a lot of trouble obtaining a refund for the breakfast and taxes for the 3 nights when I was the only person in the apartment I was told I could only get the 1.01Euro tax back and did I really want this since it was only 1 Euro? The conference accomodation people assured me I was entitled to the refund so I had to ask several staff members and for a manager before I could get the refunded. This information was then not conveyed to the desk staff when I went to check out, further complicating matters.

Nice apartment, poor beds, desk staff could try harder to help.

“Only sofa beds - uncomfortable”

Citadines Montpellier Antigone

25 Aug 2007

After a long travel, all I wanted to do was sleep. They had NO real beds - only sofa beds. It was quite uncomfortable. The front desk was unhelpful and she acted as if asking for a room with a bed was unreasonable. I paid $110 - however, the rate posted on the board showed it to be 40 Euros.

If you want to sleep in a bed, this is not the place to stay. Even though I was only there one night, it was a bad way to start my European vacation.
