The hotel is 15 mins walk from the airport bus stop and 20 mins from the station. Be sure to check your bus time back to the airport, as they fit in with flights.

As a previous reviewer said, the hotel was not sharp on responding to an email. I telephoned a few days later to gee them up.

Hotel is basic, I found the walls quite thin and the shower slow to heat up. The room, though clean, was a bit drab. These things were quite irritating, but I was in Nimes for a purpose, not to hang around hotel. Information desk's advice on restaurants, shops etc. was really awful. They sent me to a depressing restaurant, and one around the corner that looked like it had been closed for a year! There is a nice square, du Chateau, behind the hotel, with restaurants, also restaurants all around Nimes. Near the Arenes, the Restaurant des Artistes is good.

I would check out other hotels in Nimes, were I to return. The Acanthe is ok, but I've stayed in nicer rooms for the money. I never had breakfast, but I'm sure it is good.

Hotel is located close to sights, shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk to train and bus station. There was no noise on a night.
Hotel has been recently tastefully refurbished whilst still retaining French decor.
We stayed 5 nights and had a lovely room with a balcony - I think this was the only room with a balcony (no. 19 if you can get it). The room itself was not large, but adequate - very clean and furniture was in the old French style.
We thought it was good value at 50 euros per night and breakfeast at 7 euros each. Breakfast was not self-service, but brought to your table consisting of fruit juice, yoghurt, cheese, variety of breads and jams, tea or coffee. Adequate and you could always have more, but we were always full.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and found the staff very friendly and helpful. After staying in Nimes we went for 4 nights to Arles and returned early to Nimes to get the shuttle bus to the airport and found there is no left luggage facility at the station. Rather than dragging our luggage around Nimes for 4 hours we went back to the hotel and there was no problem in leaving our cases there.

We just returned from a 2-night stay at this hotel in Nimes. It was a fairly good location on the edge of the central district, just a few minutes walk from the Arena. We thought it was a good value at only 52 euros/night. We booked the larger double room for a bit more space and while the room was simple, it was very clean and we had plenty of space. We did have the breakfast in the morning (7 euros/ per person I think?) and it was your standard continental breakfast with yogurt, bread, coffee or chocolate, etc.

We also reserved a parking spot in their tiny garage (large enough to fit just two cars - barely). We could have found parking on the street but the extra charge for the parking garage was easy (9 euros/night if I remember correctly) other than having to have the front desk person go out with us each time we needed to get or park our car so he could open the door, etc.

A few of the staff did speak some english, and Eric spoke very good english but was gracious to let us practice our bad french with him!

My only complaint is that I made my reservation by emailing the hotel directly and after I confirmed, sent credit card details, etc., they were very slow in responding with a confirmation that we had a room booked. Not a big deal, but I am fairly detail oriented and they just had sort of the relaxed approach to it... three days later I received a "do not worry, of course we have your reservation" note!

Overall, it was a good stay, good value, simple but comfortable place in a good location.

Located inside the old city the hotel is ideal for bars/restaurants and shops. The main sights and railway station are all within 10-15 mins walk.

The rooms are very small but clean and decor is ok. Our's, (no4) had doors leading to a roof terrace, no view at all but at least it felt a bit more airy with them open. If you don't go excecting the Hilton then you won't be disappointed and at 50 Euros/room it has to be good value.

As other reviews have said, the staff are very friendly, not all speak English but it gives you a chance to practice your French.

We used the train to visit Sete and Agde, both very pretty seaside towns. Also went to Le Grau Du Roi, a nice port and resort but take the local bus and use the "ecole" stop in Grau, SNCF seem to decide to use a bus anyway half the time so save some money! Take the 1hr boat trip to the nearest 2 marinas, a bargain at only 6 euros.

The hotel is easily reached by taking the Ryaniar bus from the airport, get off at the second stop, (Novotel Atria) face to the right, follow the main road, turn left at the Irish pub, the hotel is then next right up a very narrow street. By car I have no idea - the place is like a one way rabbit warren!

This hotel is one of the nicest, for the price, that we stayed in during our trip to Southern France. Room was clean with a nice ceiling fan to help keep the room cool. It is on a side street with very little traffic at night. Owners are very friendly and the man speaks English. We were able to store our bicycle in their garage. Laundry and internet cafe only 5 minutes away. Located in a central location, only 5-15 minute walk to tourist attractions.
