We spent one night here in April 2005. This hotel is located near the Chateau built by William the Conqueror. We reserved through the Best Western internet site and paid 150 Euros for the deluxe room. (This was much higher than our Holiday Inn in Paris)! The room in which we stayed (#303) is the one shown in the Best Western booklet, so I am guessing that this is among the nicest rooms in the hotel. This room is in the newer part of the hotel. Considering its price, I would judge this room as only OK -- certainly not worth the price we paid. However, it was a nice, large, comfortable room. It had a king-size bed (2 twins pushed together), a nice modern bathroom, a floor-to-ceiling mirrored closet with plenty of storage space, and a wall-mounted valet to hang things. The room had two windows on opposite sides of the room, thereby letting in lots of sunlight. The very nice bathroom did not have a box of kleenex, but it had a sealed package with three tissues in it. The "soap slice" was adequately named as it really was a thin slice of soap. There is internet access by telephone only. The restaurant was very nice, good quality, but lacked diversity. For example, the same white asparagus showed up in the "amuse-bouche" of white asparagus with smoked salmon cream, cream sauce with finely diced carrots & zucchini served before the meal; the entrée of mixed grilled fish on creamy white asparagus & finely diced carrots & zucchini; and as a side dish to my main course. (All dishes, however, were delicious). The hotel has a beautiful, but small, bar with an exquisite collection of aged Calvados & aged Scotch. Parking at the hotel is free, but the parking spaces are very, very tight. It was quite a challenge getting in there. The service at the hotel was very good. We really like this hotel, which is why I am giving it an above-average rating, but it was overpriced for what you would normally get in the French provinces for much less.
