We chose Select Hotel because we wanted the first night of our holiday to be more than just a stopover, and we weren't disappointed. A traditional French guest house, the hotel is in a good position, just a few steps from a tram stop or a 15 minute walk to the old town. We booked a family room which was a double with bunk beds. The room was clean and bright and the bathroom was nicely done out with a good hot shower. Breakfast is served round one big round table and was delicious. There was homemade jam to accompany plenty of fresh fruit, bread and pastries. Free wifi was a bonus especially as it was 4 euros a day at the campsite we moved on to! Only drawback is parking which is on street and only free directly outside the hotel. It's also not quite as quiet at night as you would expect for a side street. One other word of warning Le Mans is a delightful old town but almost everything was shut, including restaurants and cafes, on Sunday and Monday.
