We spent two nights here in Sept 2003- Fabulous! It was worth the drive and being away from the main tourist destinations in the Loire Valley.
This Relais and Chateaux hotel is very tranquil and restful. It looks like it's own little village! Accomodations were lovely and more recently renovated than many of the other R and C hotels we stayed in.
Be careful if you want a stand up shower- you must request or you get a bathtub where you must sit to use the shower attatchment. We thought the chef was especially gifted and orchestrated all the dishes superbly. Staff was extremely helpful without being obsequious. We stayed in the 'Manor House' on the second floor with lovely exposed beams. Nearby: Even if you are not a horse lover, the Ecole Nationale d'Equitation home of the highly trained dressage team and instructor training is very interesting and something different from all the chateaux and fine wine.

The hotel is superb and the people friendly. The food is excellent but expensive. Great place for a special occasion.

It's actually been 8 years since I stayed at Chateau de Noirieux. My wife and I spent 3 nights there on our honeymoon. Truly a wonderful place. Everything about the chateau is excellent: the beautifully and individually decorated rooms, taking breakfast in the courtyard overlooking the Loire River, dining in the excellent restaurant, the personal service, and intimate environment. I plan to revisit for our 10th anniversary.
