Just returned from a very pleasant 2 night stay at this hotel. Although we booked their cheapest room, it still had every thing we needed, including air con, flat screen TV, and overlooked the River Loire.
The room and hotel have both been recently refurbished and are both clean and comfortable. Situated on the island in the middle of the Loire, it's no more than 5 minutes wallk from the railway station. We found it easier to approach the hotel from the railway station side of town, thus avoiding the busy town centre.
We were unable to book the secure parking, but were able park right outside the hotel, free of charge, in a quiet street, no problem at all. Considering we stayed on a Friday and Saturday night in the middle of August, it was very quiet
All in all a very pleasant experience and certainly better than previous Best Western hotels we've stayed at.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in June. We ended up there during two summer festivals. Those interested in the Loire, Saumur is an excellent choice.

This hotel is very clean and modern. The room was a suite, which was small for four. But we didn't need to spend much time in the room.

Breakfast is available and is quite good. Their is also a small bar in the lobby. Our young boys loved the pool table in the lobby. This kept them busy when we needed some rest.

The service was quite good and friendly. They all speak English.

We stopped for a night here after a five hundred mile drive up from the Pyrenees, having started out that morning. The hotel is well-situated, has secure private parking, and the rooms are pleasant, if a little bland. All was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful though the breakfast buffet could have been a little more substantial. Saumur is a very attractive small town where we spent an enjoyable evening 'winding down' before the second half of our journey back to Boulogne the next day. Our room had large external shutters which excluded all light and noise, and in our large comfortable bed we both slept like logs - just what we needed.

The room was great. The staff was friendly and very helpfull. A wonderful place to base exploring the Loire Valley.
