I have travelled to Aix-en Provence due to a school leisure trip therefore our group was about 50-60 people. First of all, the place is next to the motorway so it is not at the best location and it is quite far from the centre of Aix-en Provence. The first impression was normal it was a kind of motel where I usually stop for a night next to the motorway to have a one night sleep. Well, the sizes of the rooms were also at that size as in a bungalow or such. They said some rooms were for 3 some just double…all the rooms are at the same size, I was wondering how they would squeeze another person into that tiny space. For 2 it is just bearable. The cleanliness of the hotel is all right, they have room cleaning services so that is one good point so far. As we were not a small group, they could not accommodate us to the restaurant area instead we were put to a nearby room which was the ’conference room’ (did not look like that) and the most ridiculous thing was, they did not provide us any plate for breakfast just a croissant, jam, butter and a tiny piece of bread on a ‘dining paper’???. The service was awful, unfriendly and very aggressive. As the breakfast was nothing for most of us, we went to the local Lidl to buy our breakfast and when I was about to take some napkins from the restaurant, the employee was arguing with me and almost shouting at me how dare I take their napkins because it cost money etc. but could not even explain her problems in English, therefore I did not even care as our group had paid for the services and such.
The place is surely not an attractive hotel, not in a good location for tourists who have no car, the rooms are not the best and the service is very bad not mentioning the confusion they made when our group arrived, they could not even check us in professionally – definitely not prepared for groups.
I would not recommend it to anyone who is looking for an ideal ‘Provence’ experience.
