Our family, consisting of my husband and I (in our 30s) and my parents (60+), stayed in the Baroque apartment April 12-20, 2010. It was an excellent base for visiting many of the sights in Provence. Nathalie and her husband were wonderful hosts.
I would classify our party as pretty demanding. We had a health scare with my mother, and asked our hosts a lot of questions regarding Doctors, hospital, etc. . However Nathalie was always very accommodating with helping us. (A huge plus in my book as these are self-contained apartments and not true B&B type accommodations - so she went above and beyond in my opinion). She and her husband were always cheerful with our questions and ready to offer advice. They also offered a little reception on one of the evenings for all the guests who were renting the apartments. They served regional wine (for those who drank) and juices for those of us who didn't, along with cheeses and a few other things. They were also brilliant in facilitating conversation with their guests. Oh, and each morning Nathalie would write memos with notes about local events, etc. on a large blackboard by the front door so that you were sure not to miss anything.
The Baroque apartment, which we rented, worked very well for our group as the bedroom areas are at opposite sides of the apartment giving some level of privacy for each party. The apartment itself was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. The pictures on the website are accurate. (I will note that while we were there, the city was doing road work across the way throughout the night. This did not disturb the sleep for 3 of us; however it did disrupt the sleep of the most sensitive sleeper amongst our party. Obviously, our hosts had no control over this, and I would not hesitate to book the apartment again - but perhaps recommend that if you are a sensitive sleeper you bring ear plugs just in case.)
If you appreciate French Vintage decorating, then this apartment is exactly what you are looking for. Nathalie and her husband own an antique store so if, like me, you enjoy the brocants and hunting for your own antiques to bring home from France, this accommodation is great because the hosts are happy to share information on which markets to visit and where/when the best sales are.
I should also note that each morning Nathalie delivered a fresh baguette, croissants and pain au chocolate to the apartment which began our day in perfect fashion. The village of Apt was very nice to walk through and contained some great little shops. (The candy shop became my husband’s favorite!) This apartment was absolutely beautiful and it would be our pleasure to stay there again in the future.
