“Perfect”

London

My now wife and I stayed here for 7 nights as part of a European tour at the end of the European summer. I had previously had lunch at the Eden Roc with some relatives, arriving by motor yacht, and liked the feel of the place so decided to return a year or so later with my fiancee (now my wife!). We found it totally idyllic and near perfect!

I had booked a room on the shoreline in the Eden Roc annex, and the room was just lovely - everything that one needed and everything in the correct place. The service from the concierge and room service staff was just excellent - as fussy or as "down to earth" as you wanted. Dinners were superb and superbly elegant - simple dishes, complex dishes, and a dessert trolley from heaven! Lazy days around the pool were lovely, and lunch could last until sunset!

The spa and sports facilities are very good, although it is not the biggest spa or gym in the world, but it does have lovely clay tennis courts. If you're driving then the parking is excellent and under cover - you would feel comfortable leaving a Fiat 500 or an Enzo Ferrari there.

You would live at the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc if you could afford it, because it is expensive! But you return totally relaxed and satisfied - worth every penny.

“Service with an attitude”

Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc

20 May 2008

The hotel location is perfect and the pool is quite nice, although crowded. The decor is outdated, although, as is the attitude of the staff ...Abnoxious is probably the best way to sum it up.
We've stayed in numerous incredible hotels all over the world, and this has been the most "not worth the money and the pomp" experiences.

“All the truth about Hotel du Cap”

Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc

We just came back from our trip to andipes, during which we stayed in Hotel du Cap. We have a good experience of staying in similar hotels in Europe, so we have to admit that this hotel did not fulfill our expectations......

It is true that the property is breathtaking. It is a heaven on earth, and we really enjoyed its location. But when you pay so much money (650 for a simple double room, and 1000 for a junior suite without breakfast) you definetely do not expect that there won't be a mini bar to freeze a bootle of water (!) or the TV will be placed in a position that you won't be able to watch....In fact they informed us that no room in the hotel has a mini bar (!).

The bed's matress was problematic. It was slightly higher from the one side and we could not rest...The sleeping pillows were too big , hard and square. When we asked if there were normal
80/60 or 70/50 they told us no.....

A lux hotel of this category that fails to provide comfort for sleeping, has major drawbacks, as the least you expect when you pay so much momey is sleep well....

As for the prices in general, we were prepared that that they would be high as the hotel is vey luxurious...But not that hight!!! 100 euros or a simple hair blowdry, and 100 euros for a maniqure! 40 euros for a club sandwitch ,200 for 40 mimutes of massage (!) and 150 to 200 euros breakfast for two....Be prepared to spend a fortune.....

What was the worst, was the Receptionist. There was a very stiff lady that never smiled or said goodmorning to us, altough there other staff that were nice. Still the reception desk is the "mirror" of a hotel, and should definetely be more welcome and caring. The last night we asked for a wake up call for 8:30 in the morning They forgot it (!) and a woman called to appologise at 9:15. When we went to the reception the same morning to check out, the same cold receptionist asked if we had breakfast that morning to charge before we leave. When we told her that we did not take breakfast because they forgot to make the wake up call, she said nothing....In fact, it was obvious that she was snob, uncaring, showing no hospitality whatsoever...Maybe it was because we are no celebrities, as it seems that only if you are VIP would get their attention and care......

When you visit holels like that , you ought to be given comfort and politness. Unforunatelly, the basic problems in this hotel are very good reasons for us not to visit it again.

If you go to Andipes, we would recommend to reserve a table for dinner at the restaurant of the hotel which has as amazing see view, and generally visit the hotel for a coctail or coffee, to really enjoy its amazing location. But staying there, would definetelly disapoint your high expectations.......

“unique, expensive, worth it!”

I've stayed here several times - have never failed to be moved by this magical experience. You have to accept that you'll be paying over the odds for this experience, but it is always worth it.
Rooms can be variable, even within the main building, and I have to admit that the Fountains rooms are disappointing.
Food is excellent, exquisite croissants.
The location is unbeatable.
Contrary to some reviews, I've never had a problem with the service, in fact its always been very personal and warm.
There are very few hotels which I have found to be destinations in themselves, but this is certainly one of them.

“Absolutely wonderful”

Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc

I am actually shocked to see that some of you who have written a review can find so many bad things to say about this wonderful hotel!

I love to travel, and have been to many exclusive hotels in the past years. Such as; Soneva Fushi in Maldives, Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Waldorf Towers in New York, Frégate Island in the Seychelles, etc. Well, my point is that I've been to many of the top-rated hotels, and this is absolutely one of the best. The room were great, really good service, fantastic food and wonderful surroundings. The hotel is very beautiful, and looks like a castle.

And it has to be great when celebrities like Madonna, Naomi Campell, Sienna Miller & Brad Pitt, goes there to enjoy some luxury.

I atleast advise all of you to travel to Cap Eden-Roc. I love it.
