After some disappointment with other hotels in the Cote d'Azur area, we were delighted with the Quality Carlton.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and when I was struggling with my pidgin French, were always able to fill in with English unprompted (they also had a nice Irish girl working there if anything got too complex).
The room was very large for a very good value rate. We enjoyed breakfast also.
The hotel is in SUCH a good location, both for the lovely town of Beaulieu and for seeing the whole area from Nice to Monaco, and beyond.
There are great restaurants and cafes in the town, and a lovely market at the weekend.
We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

We had some aprehension about this hotel however enjoyed every moment. It was relaxing and in a great location - easily accessible by foot to the beach, train, casino and shops. We paid extra for a larger room and this was very large in comparison to some European hotels. Beaulieu is a quiet and beautiful town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and again.

We found this hotel excellent value for money. Our room was very small, just enough room for a double bed, a small wardrobe and a small desk, but we were aware of this at time of booking. So if you get room 101 you will know what to expect. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The pool was small but even during August there was no problem finding a sunbed. We used this hotel as a base to travel the cote d'Azur; Cannes, St Tropez, Monaco, Nice all within easy reach. Beaulieu is a stunning area to stay, with a few nice restaurants within five minutes walk of the hotel. There is also a nice walk along the sea front that is ideal for romantic walks in the evening.

ServiceMy girlfriend and I stayed here for around a week in June. First let me tell you that Beaulieu Sur Mer this is such a beautiful town with a small pebbled beach, marina, cliff walks and easy access to the cote d'azur, from Cannes to Monaco (regular train service from the centre of town). There is a variety of choice of restaurants with traditional French dishes readily available (I avoided the snails) and a lot of choices of local wines. As with this whole area it is all pretty expensive. A picnic of cheeses, baguettes, olives and other local produce on the beach is a recommendation, and there are plenty of shops from local food stores to super-markets.
The Hotel Carlton is just a few minutes away from the beach but is opposite a school. Even if you are staying during the school holidays there is a sports hall that seems to be in constant use, weekends and late in the evening, so some people may find it disturbing. As for the rooms, all I can say is our room was tiny, probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I am not sure there are any bigger rooms in the hotel, but if there is, get one! The other major problem is the air conditioning, it was barely a breeze. I complained about this a few times but was told that it was as cold as it could get. It was hot when we were there and we had to keep the window open at night, as the AC was inadequate. The room as with the bathroom was clean but as mentioned before, pretty small.
The service was a positive. The Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and always forth coming with help and advice. There were a couple of Irish ladies who worked in the restaurant and sometimes behind reception who were fantastic and very helpful. Breakfast was ok value at 15 Euros and offered cereals, fruit, croissants, juice, cheese and meats and eggs. The Swimming Pool was clean and warm, not huge, but when we were there it was not busy at all. There may have been problems finding space if it were busier. There was also a Table Tennis Table that we had a go at.
All in all this is definitely no more then a 3 star hotel. If you can get a bigger room, (may have to pay more) this is a reasonable base to explore the Cote d'Azur as there are so many things to see, visit and eat that you should not be spending too much time in the hotel.
