My sister and I just returned from a fantastic stay at the Le Grimadi. It was absolutely one of the highlights of our vacation on the French and Italian Riveria. We took the train from Italy, and then a taxi from the Cagnes Sur Mer station. (I think it was about 10 Euros.) We were a little confused when we arrived because the village seemed very steep and crowded, and we had booked this hotel without knowing what to expect. Once we got settled, we found it was actually crowded with people who lived in the town enjoying the square, not tourists.
Tomas, the owner, was outside the hotel, and greeted us by name. He made us feel comfortable right away. He spoke perfect English, and was extremely polite and attentive, without being intrusive the way some owners might be in such a small hotel. Our room was spotless, looked out on the square, and was extremely quiet at night. It was very cozy and comfortable. (Room # 2)
I'm not sure if the village sees many young, single, female travellers, but we felt very comfortable and welcomed by everyone we met. We had an absolutely amazing dinner at the hotel, and enjoyed the jazz bar next door, with a really friendly waitress and owner. We also had a great dinner the next night at a wonderful and inexpensive place right down the hill.
The free shuttle is great if you want to take the bus or train to other towns, or if you want to go to the beach. The driver was very friendly. It runs every 15 minutes.
We felt a part of the village, and we were only there 2 days. I would recommend a visit to this village and hotel as a very authentic French experience, with lots to do if you like walking, and prefer a livelly cafe in the evening to a nightclub!
Thank you so much to Tomas, and all the other friendly villagers.

This was a delight after 25 hours of travel, Tomez (host)was so laid back and friendly, which made our evening of relaxing stress free and with the surrounding vista there is nowhere I could of thought of to make this the start to a honeymoon. The hotel and restaurant were quaint and were of high standard, plenty to see and do around the small village around the Chateaux.

The food served at the Grimaldi Hotel was spot on with the hosts giving their everything to make the stay memorable.

As for the parking do as the French do, double park, leave your contact # and relax.

Located in a beautiful medieval village to the west of Nice with a complimentary bus to the main town of Cagnes sur Mer every 15 minutes! Food to die for, but also quite expensive. Rooms were lovely overlooking a typical French square. Would definetely stay again if in the area.

Enjoyed two nights @ the property in a cozy rustic room with the most comfortable beds yet experienced in France.
Tomaz, the Swedish iwner and host made us feel most welcome and was extremely helpful with local info etc.
The medieval village area on top of the hill is utterly charming and Josy Jos is highly recommended as a one Michellen star restaurant within strolling distance.
The location is a little tricky to get to from the train station - approx 16 Euros. Once there though make use of the free shuttle bus service which interconnects with main bus services to Nice for as little as 1 Euro.
Taksa mycket Tomaz and continued success with us fussy travellers

Rarely do i write a review but this place deserves it. We only had one night to book on our own without Hilton Points, and I saw this place on Trip Advisor. The reviews were all strong and it looked like a break from the big hotels were staying in.

Getting there is easy. At the Nice airport you can take a taxi for 40 euros or take the #200 bus outside of terminal 1 for 1 Euro. Take it to the main bus square in Cagnes-sur-Mer. From there catch the free bus to the old town that runs every 15 minutes.

We were greeted by name by Tomaz as we approached the lovely building and were escorted immediately to a small but very charming room overlooking the square and small valley beyond. The bed had premium linens and a comfortable mattress. The room was quiet.

For lunch we opted to eat outside at the hotel overlooking the square. The food was some of the best of the trip. So good that we stayed late on checkout day so we could have lunch again. There are plenty of choices on the square and that night we chose to eat at Le Jimmy' s for pizza- another great choice. The one night was capped off by a few sets at the Black Cat jazz bar next door. Breakfast was the best we had particularly the buttery croissants and premium meats and cheeses.

We wrestled with canceling the next couple of nights in Monaco and just staying there. The 500 year old district is unique and there is much to do. Eventually we opted to continue our travels. In retrospect we should have stayed in the quiet surrounding of Cagnes-sur-Mer.
