Spent four nights at the Embassy last November (2006) as I was attending a Conference in Cannes. Rooms elsewhere appeared to be fully booked so managed to get space at this location.
Room was clean but fairly basic and quite small - nothing elaborate or too modern but functional. Décor a bit flowery and not to my taste but bed reasonably comfortable.
Quiet location - room overlooked street (and other properties) but was always quiet. Reasonably accessible to centre of town and Promenade (less than 5 mins) but it was about a 15 min walk to Conference Centre and Old Town. No corridor noise or bother from other hotel guests.
Friendly and helpful reception. However, was charged separately for breakfast - even though I didn't partake: if I had been staying for leisure I would have queried this.
Thought the stylishness of the area would have rubbed off in this hotel. Not so - although it is clean and acceptable - it is a little worn and very dated and could do with updating. Also, not much by way of eating establishments remain open in the evening in November in this part of town - and room service was limited.
Reasonable enough hotel for a short stay - but had I been travelling for a weekend break with my wife I think I would have been left somewhat disappointed.
Would try to stay elsewhere next time.
