“A peaceful, unusual place to stay”

If you want peace and quiet in a new, modern property then this is the place for you. My partner and I stayed 2 nights in a one bedroom apartment (which could accomodate up to 4 persons including a double sofa bed). Everything was new and clean. Our room enjoyed a balcony and two patio doors out onto our own private south facing sun terrace. We were right next to the pool and the sun deck. Wonderful views across the hillside and overlooking the coastline beyond. The room was equipped with a good quality bathroom with separate toilet and a kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and crockery, cutlery pots, pans etc. It's right in the heart of Eze village and in walking distance of the local restaurants and the quaint old town - a must see. We had a car (essential) so trips to Monte Carlo (20 mins) and Nice (20 mins) were straightforward. There was no bar or restaurant in the property and the breakfast comprised of french bread, croissants, cornflakes and juice so we would recomend breakfast in the local cafe. There's a bakers right next door and we bought delicious breakfast food there. The property is unstaffed at night but security throughout was of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay and would use the property again as a base for exploring the surrounding area.

We stayed at Eza Vista for 2 nights in Dec. 2006 just before New Year's eve.

We had booked a studio but changed to an apartment. The studio had a large sofa bed which we should have opened ourselves to get our bed in the evening. We did not want to do that so we asked for a room with real bed. Then we were given the only available room which was very good, two bedrooms and a large living room / eating room with a big yard. We had to pay the price for the bigger room but we did not mind as it was just additional EUR 25 / night for a much nicer room.

The room was very clean, it had two toilets and a brilliant bath room (we took some bubble baths with the high quality bath gels provided by the hotel)!

The kitchen is equipped with ARISTON dish washer, micro wave oven / grill and electric oven as well as good tableware and coffee and water machine and toaster. You can easily do all your cooking yourselves at Eza Vista, if you want. The kitchen even had one dish washer tablet which was adequate for us.

The living room has THOMPSON flat screen TV with app. 15 channels and a glass table.

The terrace and yard were great, even though the yard is common with other rooms in the same floor (your neighbours can freely walk through your yard but we did not see anyone do it, except the guardener).

The service at the reception was absolutely great (greetings to the young lady who was so nice to us all the time, guiding us to La Turbie for magazine shopping in the evening and to the beautiful hiking route down to Eze Bord du Mer!).

Eza Vista is very modern, new, spacious and clean and I enjoyed the decoration very much - the red lamps in the living room gave a very relaxing and romantic tone to the apartment in the evenings!

If you don't have the extra money to stay at Chevre d'Or (the most exclusive and expensive hotel inside the old Eze Village), it is definitely a great idea to stay at Eza Vista!

My husband and I spent five days at Eza Vista in early September, and were delighted with the hotel. We were in a studio and I agree with the previous reviewer that the sofabed was not the best - so we took the mattress off and laid it on the floor, where it was as comfortable as home. A bit of a nuisance putting the sofa back together each morning but worth it. Also agree that it would have been nice to have a bureau with some drawers, or perhaps some shelves in that one closet. Not too serious though. Beautiful hotel, felt nice and modern and chic (although I'm not sure how those furnishings will hold up after a few years of wear and tear). Very well equipped kitchen. Location could not be beat - so glad we didn't stay right in Nice. Ate the occasionalmeal on our lovely patio (well thought out with frosted glass dividers to give privacy while allowing light through). People who come to Eza Vista must understand and be prepared that it is a "residence", not a hotel - so there is no daily cleaning or trash removal or fresh linens. The price reflects this though and you can pay for these services if you want them.
One thing that was a bit disappointing: too much chlorine in the pool. I think I read a previous review about the pool not being clean, so maybe they over-compensated. We only swam once as it made us feel prickly and stingy. Very nice sitting area and furniture around the pool - I'm sure this is something they can adjust and correct easily.
In all, would recommend to friends and would happily stay there again.

“Good but wouldn't rave about it”

Eza Vista

Whilst I don't want to be a party pooper I just thought that I should give a view of the studios on offer rather than just the suites/1-2 bedroom apartments which have been reviewed. My husband and I stayed at the Eza Vista for a week in August and whilst all of the comments already posted are true about the newness, modern design, location and cleanliness for example I wouldn't agree with a few comments made, especially with regard to space. We stayed in a studio (as it was just the 2 of us) and although the separate bathroom was a good size the rest of the studio was a bit cramped to be honest. We also weren't keen on the fact that rather than have a double bed it had a sofa bed (why??) which although comfortable, wasn't as good as a proper bed as your feet were slightly elevated. There was also a severe lack of storage space as there were no drawers at all. Apart from the kitchen table there was only one coffee table which we had to use to put all our stuff on (camera, sun creams etc etc) and one tiny wardrobe which meant that the room looked like a complete mess most of the time as there was nowhere to put anything away! Honestly not a whinger and perhaps these seem like minor items but we felt for the price paid it would have been nice to have somewhere to put your underwear away rather living out of your suitcase for a week!

    • Disliked — The sofabed and lack of storage!
    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — Take some hangers as there was only about 2!

Minimum fuss accomodation. All self catering. Rooms very clean and new. Underground parking. A small pool with sunbathing area. The hotel is really a base for exploring the surrounding area. Monaco 15 minutes drive, Nice 20, St Jean Cap Ferrat 15. There are also some excellent walks for those who like walking, some of the views are fabulous. Paths are clearly marked, but do pass very close to the edge of some serious drops so be wary. Eze village is very picturesque,it is a ghost town by 11:00pm. Very busy during the day. You need a car. Eating out is very expensive, the local shops offer little in choice, you have to shop in the larger towns. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
To find the hotel from Nice airport. Either head to Nice centre then follow the green signs to Monaco(not the blue signs)this road takes you through Eze itself. Alternatively the easier route is to drive down the promenade at Nice,(the airport is at the end of the promenade), stay on the sea front road, go through Villefranche, head towards Villefranche sur le mer, then Beaulie. You will pick up either green signs for Monaco or signs for Eze village itself. From the sea front it is a big climb to the Eze road, so if you find yourself driving up steep, narrow and twisting roads, don't worry, all the roads are like that. Nice becomes heavily congested with traffic. Once clear of the urban areas driving is relaxed, but obey the speed limits.
